The City of Taguig, led by the Taguig City Health Office and City Tourism Office will be holding “PINTAyo”, a mural-making contest, to strengthen the city’s campaign in raising awareness to combat illegal drugs, alcohol use, and smoking.

DEADLINE OF SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES IS 𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑

Mechanics:
1. The contest is open to all Taguigueños regardless of age.
2. Participants may be individual or by group with maximum of 5 members only.
3. Participants need to submit first their draft layout to 𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐨.𝐡𝐞𝐩𝐨@𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥.𝐜𝐨𝐦 (digital or sketch copy).
4. The artwork must be an original piece and adhere to the theme: "𝐇𝐮𝐰𝐚𝐠 𝐇𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐨 𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐲𝐨, 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐨, 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐤, 𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐨".
5. Submission of entries is 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟗.
6. The contest committee will choose 10 participants based on the drafts received in the email and will be judged according to the following criteria:
1. Adherence to the Theme: 50%
2. Quality, Originality, and Creativity: 50%

7. The top 10 participants will then compete for the final Top 5 slots through social media engagement and according to the contest committee’s scores assessed on the following criteria:
1. Adherence to the Theme: 50%
2. Quality, Originality, and Creativity: 40%
3. Social Media Engagament: 10%

8. Finalists have one (1) week to finish the mural starting from the announcement date of the Top 5.

9. Top 5 finalists will then be judged according to the following criteria:
1. Adherence to the Theme: 50%
2. Quality, Originality, and Creativity: 40%
3. Ex*****on: 10%

10. The City Government of Taguig will provide all needed materials for the mural.

Top 5 winners will take home the following cash prizes:
1st Place - P15,000
2nd Place - P10,000
3rd Place - P8,000
4th Place - P5,000
5th Place - P3,000

Sa flag-raising ceremony ngayong araw, Mayo 15, na pinangunahan ng Sports Development Office - Taguig (SDO), inanunsyo ang nalalapit na pagsisimula ng Taguig Sports League at kinilala ang tagumpay ng atletang Taguigueño sa mga katatapos lamang na kumpetisyon.

Ayon kay SDO head Bing Victoria, mahigit 23,000 na mga manlalaro mula sa lahat ng barangay ang maglalaban sa Taguig Sports League upang masungkit ang kampeonato sa basketball, volleyball, dart, chess, badminton at billiards.

Narito ang mga atletang Taguigueño na nag-uwi ng mga medalya mula sa ginanap na Palarong NCR kamakailan:

-400-meter dash-Gold; 100-meter dash-Silver; 200-meter dash-Bronze: Fiona Pilapis (G*t Andres Bonifacio Elementary School)

Naiuwi ng Division of Taguig-Pateros sa ginanap na NCR Meet ang kabuuang 7 golds, 52 silvers, at 56 bronzes.

Humakot din ng parangal sa iba't ibang kategorya sa National Cheerleading Competition ang Taguig City University, Signal Village National High School at South Empire Cheerdance Group.

Nanalo ang softball at baseball teams ng lungsod sa ginanap na 2023 Little League Philippines at Pureplay International Softball.

Nasungkit naman ng Taguig Generals Men's Team ang pangalawang kampeonato sa National Basketball League 2nd Conference Chairman's Cup.

Napuno ng aksyon at kasiyahan ang Taguig Paralympics 2023 ngayong araw, Mayo 6, na ginanap sa TCU Auditorium, Brgy. Central Bicutan.

Kalakip ng misyon ni Mayor Lani Cayetano na hubugin ang Taguig bilang isang Transformative, Lively at Caring City ang pagpapalawig ng mga programang nagpapalakas sa sektor ng Persons with Disabilities.

"Bilang mayor ng Taguig, palagi nating inaalagaan at sinusuportahan ang sektor ng Persons with Disabilities," saad ni Mayor Lani.

Ang paralympics, na pinangunahan ng Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office-Taguig at Sports Development Office - Taguig, kasama ang Future Vision Inc., ay nilahukan ng 287 na atletang Taguigueñong Persons with Disabilities. Sila ay nagtunggali sa iba't ibang isports tulad ng sitting volleyball, goal ball, chess at chess for the blind, badminton, darts at shoot out.

Bilang hudyat ng opisyal na pagsisimula ng palaro, si Mayor Lani ang unang nagserve ng bola para sa larong sitting volleyball.

"Sa sports, marami tayong disiplina at mga bagay na natututunan. Bukod po 'yung value ng teamwork, discipline, goal-setting at camaraderie. Napakalahaga na nakikita natin ang sports bilang pagkakataon na, una, mas lumawak ang mga kaibigan ng ating Persons with Disabilities, mas lalo tayong magkakila-kilala; at pangalawa, maipakita natin ang ating mga angking kagalingan," dagdag ni Mayor Lani.

Ang mga nagwagi ay nakatanggap ng P3,000-P6,000 na cash prize at tropeyo. Nakatanggap naman ng consolation prize ang mga naging kalahok.

Upang siguruhin ang kaligtasan ng mga manlalaro, mayroong nakaantabay na mga doktor at nars sa buong programa.

Dumalo sa naging patimpalak sina PDAO Head Helario Supaz; Vice Chairperson of Committee on Youth Sports and Development Coun. Jomil Serna; Chairperson on Women, Children and Family Affairs Coun. Marisse Balina-Eron; Coun. Edgar Baptista; at Executive Assistant for Health Dr. Cecille Montales.

Bilang bahagi ng selebrasyon natin ng ika-436 anibersaryo ng pagkakatatag ng lungsod ng Taguig malugod naming inaanyayahan ang lahat na makilahok at suportahan ang ating mga atletang makikipagpaligsahan sa Taguig Sports League 2023, sa pangunguna ng Taguig Sports Development Office.

Maglalaban laban ang iba't-ibang kuponan sa mga sports gaya ng basketball, volleyball, darts, chess, badminton, at billiards para makamit ang tagumpay at kampeonato.

As the City of Taguig observes its 436th founding anniversary, Mayor Lani Cayetano celebrates Eid’l Fitr with the Muslim community at Maharlika Trade Center today, April 23.

Eid’l Fitr marks the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

To start off the joyous occasion, 250 children participated in games such as tug of war, calamansi relay, and rock-paper-scissors during the Palarong Pinoy organized by the Sports Development Office - Taguig.

Simultaneously, the city held a ceremonial turnover of 1,000 packs of rice during the Kanduri, or gift-giving, at the trade center. The Barangay Affairs Office - Taguig went on to distribute them door-to-door.

Households were also provided with iftar, the meal eaten at the conclusion of each day of the fasting period, believed to bring favor and blessings.

Mayor Lani has advocated the preservation of the religious and cultural heritage of the Muslim community, and has embraced diversity through various celebrations over the years.

"Yung gusto natin i-highlight ngayong araw ay hindi 'yung pagkakaiba-iba natin kundi 'yung pagkakapare-pareho natin. Pareho tayong naniniwala na kailangan ng pananampalataya sa Diyos. Pare-pareho tayong naniniwala sa kahalagahan ng pamilya," she said.

Councilor Yasser Pangandaman and Brgy. Maharlika kagawads were present at the celebration.
