When I founded ๐๐ก๐๐, it started as a small, close-knit organization made up of family members, neighbors, church friends, classmates, and people from nearby streets. I created this group because I wanted to make a difference in our community.
We live in the innermost part of our barangay, just a stoneโs throw away from the cemetery. Because of these circumstances, our community has often been overlooked and left behind. Some families even live inside mausoleums without access to basic necessities. Our place may not be the best or the safest, but it is ours it has been our home for many years and will continue to be for generations to come.
When we started in 2012, I would gather whatever money I could from family, neighbors, and my own savings to organize small community events such as Easter egg hunts and trick-or-treat activities for about 30 participants. While we were not yet able to provide basic needs, I knew we could at least bring smiles, joy, and hope to the children in our community.
Today, ANAK has grown to more than one thousand members, with 18 chapters in Taguig and additional chapters in Nueva Ecija and Iloilo, gaining recognition across the country. Despite our growth, ๐๐ก๐๐, ๐๐ก๐. remains committed to working hand in hand with public servants and community partners who genuinely support the welfare of our beneficiaries and communities. Our organization values cooperation, respect, and unity in creating programs that make a positive impact on the lives of the Filipino people.
In the beginning, I was the one handling everything for the organization from speaking on behalf of the group to managing forms, records, and tracking our activities. But as ANAK continues to grow, I am grateful that many passionate individuals are now stepping forward to help, contribute, and work together in fulfilling our shared mission for the community.
