Dealing with an IP dispute can feel complicated. Learn how the RAPID Rules can help make the process more streamlined.

IPOPHL’s Bureau of Legal Affairs (BLA) invites stakeholders and the public, particularly MSMEs, to the RAPID Rules Awareness Program with IP Legal Clinic on 11 September 2026.

The program will provide an overview of adjudication and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services, the RAPID Rules, and available remedies in intellectual property cases. Participants will also have the opportunity to consult with IP experts during the IP Legal Clinic.

LOOK: At the sidelines of the 79th ASEAN Working Group on Intellectual Property Cooperation (AWGIPC) Meeting in Singapore, Director General Teodoro C. Pascua and Vice Minister Jung Yeonwoo of the Ministry of Intellectual Property (MOIP) of the Republic of Korea signed the Work Plan on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Trade and Industry and MOIP for Reinforced Cooperation in the Field of Intellectual Property.

The Work Plan sets out mutually beneficial cooperative activities covering intellectual property creation, protection, commercialization, enforcement, and administration.

Meet the Top 5 Finalists of the SRT Innovation Contest 2026, under the theme “AI-Driven Green and Inclusive Technologies for Climate-Resilient Filipino Communities.”

From AI-powered solutions for agriculture and environmental protection to renewable energy, electric mobility, disaster intelligence, and climate monitoring, these innovators are developing solutions that respond to real challenges faced by Filipino communities.

Ano ang pagkakapareho ng Mang Inasal Philippines, Mang Tomas, Mang Juan Republic, Mang Tinapay, Mang Kosme, at Mang Bok's?

Lahat sila ay gumagamit ng salitang "Mang" bilang bahagi ng kanilang registered trademarks.

Ang "Mang" ay isang pangkaraniwang honorific sa wikang Filipino. Sa pag-gamit ng "Mang" nabibigyan ng personalidad ang isang produkto o negosyo na siyang nagpapahiwatig ng pamilyaridad o pagiging magkakilala.

Kapag isinama ito sa iba pang natatanging salita o elemento at ginamit upang alamin ang pinagmulan ng mga produkto o serbisyo, maaari itong maging parte ng isang trademark. Ngunit, hindi agad nangangahulugan na ekslusibong pagmamay-ari ng isang trademark owner ang salita. Ang proteksiyon ng trademark ay nakadepende sa kabuuang marka, kabilang ang iba pang salita, disenyo, at kung paano ito ginagamit.

Ngayong Buwan ng Wika, ipinagdiriwang natin kung paano ang mga salitang pamilyar sa ating kultura at wika ay nagiging bahagi ng mga Pilipinong tatak na kinikilala at pinagkakatiwalaan ng marami sa atin.
