Imake.wemake: create innovate collaborate

The project imake.wemake is a project of the Science Education Institute of the Department of Science and Technology geared towards unleashing the creativity of young Filipinos to enable them to discover their potentials and learn the process of using innovation to achieve a particular purpose that will benefit their community of interest. It packs in competencies such as project proposal making,

communication skills, critical and analytical thinking, engineering and technical skills and the value of risk and failure analysis. More than anything, it is founded on the values associated with creating, collaborating and innovating to come up with a product and application that will solve a particular problem in a community.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | After days of wiring ideas and powering up their skills, our finalists finally flipped the switch—pitching their innovations before our panel of experts.

Today, the top teams showcased their projects to the Board of Judges, composed of Engr. Percival Magpantay, Engr. Carlos Matti Opus, Engr. Edison Roxas, Mr. Rodel Cruz, and Engr. Mark Kennedy Bantugon, who shared valuable insights and recommendations to make their solutions even stronger.

This isn’t the finish line—it’s just the next step. With the next months to refine and level up their innovations, our young makers are now better equipped to turn bold ideas into impactful solutions.

💬 Show some love in the comments and cheer for your favorite team!

𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝑨𝑰-𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬! 🧠

The session on 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗔𝗜) challenged our young innovators to think deeper: to see AI not just as a tool, but as a partner in turning creative sparks into intelligent systems that work with us.

Thanks to our experts from ThinkLab Philippines, Engr. Roland Jay Miguel and Engr. Engr. Josiah Sicad, who led the finalists through hands-on lessons in AI - from understanding how machines “learn” patterns to exploring how intelligence can be applied in real-world problem-solving.

With the ABC’s of innovation, the possibilities are A-Z!

𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐭 𝐓𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐈𝐭! ⚙️🔬

Today, our makers unlocked a whole new level of learning with Dr. Randolf S. Sasota’s R&D Statistics Module! From functionality to reliability, students dove deep into accuracy, precision, and prototype validation.

Sir Randolf guided the participants step by step, showing how to test and measure each parameter, suggesting practical statistical tools to use, and illustrating these through real cases from current project proposals. The session wrapped up with a hands-on workshop, where students got the chance to apply what they learned about testing parameters.

Now our teams don't just aim to build—they aim to be backed by data.

As our student-innovators enter the training stage of the competition, they also got to explore the DOST-SEI undergraduate scholarship opportunities through the : Maging DOST Scholar Ka! campaign.

They received valuable resources such as the STEM Career Guidebook for Students and Teacher’s Toolkit—designed to help students pursue S&T courses and guide teachers in supporting them through their STEM journey.

To make the experience even more relatable, Stephen A. Bueno, a third-year Mechanical Engineering student from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and proud DOST-SEI scholar, shared his insights on choosing the STEM path and offered some tips on how to thrive in college life.
