Due to the combined effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and Tropical Cyclone "Maymay" and PAGASA's Yellow Heavy Rainfall Warning still in effect over Taguig City, face-to-face classes in all levels in both public and private schools in Taguig City are suspended on Thursday, August 6, 2026, to ensure the safety of learners.

All affected classes are advised to shift to modular or other alternative learning modalities.

Residents are advised to continue monitoring official advisories from the City Government of Taguig and PAGASA and to take the necessary precautions.

Weather System: Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and Tropical Cyclone "MAYMAY"

Metro Manila, including Taguig City, remains under a Yellow Heavy Rainfall Warning. Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains, continue to affect the city and are expected to persist for the next two to three hours.

Some low-lying areas may start to see minor ponding or shallow flooding, especially if drainage is poor.
Traffic might move slower than usual during downpours.
Wet and slick roads could make driving or walking more hazardous.

Extra caution is necessary in flood-prone areas and along roads that tend to collect water during downpours.

The center of Tropical Storm MAYMAY was estimated based on all available data at 185 km West Northwest of Bacnotan, La Union (17.4°N, 118.8°E).
• Intensity
Maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 80 km/h, and central pressure of 998 hPa.

Severe Winds
The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction.
• Minor to moderate impacts from gale-force winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 2.
• Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1.
The Southwest Monsoon and the periphery of MAYMAY will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):
• Today: Most of Luzon and Visayas, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Agusan del Norte, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, Maguindanao del Norte, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental.
• Tomorrow (06 August) and Friday (07 August): Most of the country.

24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook
Up to very rough seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 5.0 m: The seaboards of Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan
• Sea travel is risky for all types or tonnage of vessels. All mariners must remain in port or, if underway, seek shelter or safe harbor as soon as possible until winds and waves subside.
Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 3.5 m: The seaboard of northern Zambales.
• Up to 3.0 m: The seaboards of Isabela and Lubang Islands; the northern and eastern seaboards of Batanes and Catanduanes; the western seaboards of Ilocos Norte, Bataan, Cavite, and Batangas; the northern seaboards of Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur; the eastern seaboard of Davao Oriental; the remaining seaboard of Zambales.
• Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced of operating ill-equipped vessels.
Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 2.5 m: The remaining seaboard of Batanes; the northern and eastern seaboards of Babuyan Islands, Polillo Islands, and Northern Samar; the northern seaboard of Aurora; the western seaboard of Occidental Mindoro, Calamian Islands, Kalayaan Islands, and northern mainland Palawan; the eastern seaboards of mainland Cagayan, Albay, Sorsogon, Eastern Samar, and Dinagat Islands.
• Up to 2.0 m: The seaboards of Romblon, Masbate including Burias and Ticao Islands, Caluya Islands, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Occidental; the eastern seaboard of Siargao-Bucas Grande Islands; the southern seaboards of Davao Oriental; the western seaboards of mainland Palawan; the remaining seaboards of mainland Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Aurora, Kalayaan Islands; Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, and Sorsogon.
• Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.
Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
• It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone.
• MAYMAY will move generally eastward and may make landfall over Ilocos Sur or La Union by this evening or tomorrow (06 August) early morning. Afterwards, it will traverse the landmass of Northern and Central Luzon until tomorrow (06 August).
• MAYMAY is forecast remain as a tropical storm as it approaches the Philippine landmass. After making landfall, MAYMAY will weaken into a tropical depression by tomorrow morning and may be downgraded further into a low pressure area by tomorrow afternoon or evening.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.

Metro Manila, including Taguig City, is now under a Yellow Heavy Rainfall Warning. Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains, continue to affect the city and are expected to persist for the next two to three hours.

Some low-lying areas may start to see minor ponding or shallow flooding, especially if drainage is poor.

Extra caution is necessary in flood-prone areas and along roads that tend to collect water during downpours.

Ang UPLIFT (Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport) Program, na magbibigay ng P2,000 na ayuda sa 7.5 milyong mahihirap at mababang-kita na pamilya sa buong bansa, ay isang programang Nasyonal.

Walang anumang partisipasyon ang Lungsod Taguig sa pagpili ng mga benepisyaryo o sa pagtukoy ng bilang ng mga benepisyaryong inilaan para sa lungsod.

Para sa mga katanungan o paglilinaw tungkol sa UPLIFT Program, maaaring makipag-ugnayan sa DSWD, bilang implementing National agency ng nasabing programa.

​Sa pagpasok ng bagong panahon, tampok sa Buwan ng Wika 2026 ang temang
"Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon." sa pangunguna ng Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF).

​Isang panawagan ang paksang ito para sa matalinong paggamit ng artificial intelligence (AI) habang pinapanatiling buhay at makapangyarihan ang wikang Filipino sa mundo ng agham at teknolohiya.

Sa tulong ng AI, mas napapaypayan natin ang sigla ng pambansang pananaliksik na nakatutok sa pangangailangan ng ating lipunan.

​Habang ginagamit ang AI bilang katuwang sa
pagtuklas, lalo namang tumitibay ang wikang Filipino bilang wika ng dunong at karunungan.

Ang pagtatagpo ng modernong teknolohiya at ng ating pambansang wika ang magsisilbing gabay ng bawat Pilipino tungo sa pangarap nating kaunlaran.

𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐅𝐋𝐔 𝐕𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐆𝐄𝐍̃𝐎𝐒 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐈𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒

The City Government of Taguig will provide free flu vaccinations for Taguigeños with comorbidities under these additional categories from August 3 to 7, 2026, at all city health centers.

This batch will accommodate the following additional categories:
• Persons with Hypertension
• Persons with Heart Disease

Persons with Diabetes will still be accommodated.

Vaccination Hours:
🕖 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Requirement:
• Present a valid ID at your respective health center.
• Any proof of comorbidity. Past or current medical certificate or prescription.

Please note that only these three categories will be accommodated during this schedule. Vaccination schedules for other eligible Taguigeños with comorbidities will be announced soon.
