Embassy of Denmark in the Philippines Welcome to the official page of the Embassy of Denmark in the Philippines! We are working for Denmark and promoting Danish interests.

We are keen to broaden and deepen relations between Denmark and the Philippines within all fields and sectors. One of the essential tasks of the Embassy is to assist Danish citizens (and persons with a residence permit in Denmark) as swiftly and effectively as possible, if they get into need in the Philippines. We continuously follow and analyze developments in the security situation, and in coope

ration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Copenhagen, we regularly update our travel advice to guide stay and movement as best as possible. The potential for economic cooperation and trade within the Philippines is considered to be very promising due to the marked improvement in the political and economic situation in the country. Quite a number of Danish companies are already active here, but we are certain that there is scope for much more. Therefore, our Trade Council at the Embassy is expecting to substantially increase our capacity to promote Danish trade relations with the Philippines. The Embassy will continue to deepen the knowledge of the local sectors and markets and opportunities. We are ready to advise and help Danish companies that wish to establish or expand business contacts in the country. We are eager to match the needs and demands in the Philippines with Danish expertise and resources. Of course, we also keep the Danish authorities updated on essential political, economic and humanitarian developments in the Philippines. Promotion of cultural activities and outreach is another part of our job. We stand ready to facilitate all kind of initiatives within the cultural field to develop relations between people in Denmark and people in the Philippines. It is our ambition to be able to feature many aspects of Danish culture. And we hope to be able to facilitate presentation of Philippine culture in Denmark. Warmest welcome to our new Deputy Head of Mission, Mads Hovøre Andersen! 🎉

Mads is no stranger to Southeast Asia, from the early beginnings of his diplomatic career as an Intern at the Danish Embassy in Hanoi and eventually serving as Political Officer in Jakarta and as Team Leader in Yangon. Before taking up his new role here in the Philippines, Mads also served at the Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Copenhagen.

Arriving at an opportune time when Denmark and the Philippines celebrate 80 years of diplomatic relations, Mads looks forward to contribute with his political experience in further strengthening the partnership between our countries. Equally important, as an avid traveller, he’s excited to start exploring the beautiful destinations in the Philippines, experience Filipino culture, and enjoy local cuisine including lechon no less! 🇵🇭

👋🏼 Say hello to our new interns for fall 2026! 👋🏼

Lucas is studying a masters degree in International Business and Management at the University of Southern Denmark, while Nina studies a masters degree in Political Science, also at the University of Southern Denmark.

Beyond gaining hands-on experience in international politics, Nina is excited to immerse herself in Filipino culture and explore beautiful islands and everything the Philippines has to offer - from history to delicious food 🏝️

Lucas is excited to work on interesting political and economic topics during his time at the Embassy. Outside the office, he looks forward to traveling and exploring the Philippines - its people, cuisine, and nature ✈️

Over the next six months, they will bring fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to the work of the Embassy! 🇩🇰🇵🇭
