The Taguig Lingap Center (TLC) celebrated its 10th founding anniversary by honoring the people and organizations behind a decade of providing care, protection, and hope to vulnerable children and individuals during a Thanksgiving and Awarding Ceremony held on Friday, July 17, at the Sen. Renato "Compaรฑero" Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School Auditorium in Barangay Ususan.
Around 170 guests attended the celebration, which carried the theme, "Isang Dekada ng Kalinga: Fostering Hope and Transformative Care," recognizing the Center's partners, stakeholders, and personnel who have contributed to its mission over the past 10 years.
The program also featured song and dance performances by Taguig Lingap Center residents and staff, highlighting the sense of family and belonging fostered within the Center through the years.
Committee on Social Welfare and Development Chairperson Councilor Atty. Darwin Icay said the milestone reflected the collective efforts of everyone who had supported the Center since its establishment.
"This is a milestone that is never the work of one person alone. It is the result of years of compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment from everyone who has walked this journey with us. Kaya naman, nararapat lamang na ang pagdiriwang na ito ay maging pagkakataon upang magpasalamat at kilalanin ang bawat isa na naging katuwang sa pagtataguyod ng ating center sa nakalipas na sampung taon."
Among those recognized were the Center's personnel through the Search for Outstanding and Exemplary Lingap Staff, which honored employees from its direct care and support service units, including case management, psychological, medical, educational, home life, security, dietary, maintenance, transport, and administrative services.
Loyalty in Service Awards were also presented to long-serving personnel, while special citations recognized individuals who demonstrated exemplary commitment to serving vulnerable sectors.
Certificates of Appreciation were likewise awarded to the Center's Pillars of Excellence: Partners and Stakeholders. Honorees included the Taguig Police Station Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), Palingon Health Center, Silangan Elementary School, the Barangay Councils for the Protection of Children (BCPCs) of Barangays New Lower Bicutan, Napindan, and Western Bicutan, as well as partner organizations such as the Legion of Mary, Victory Church โ Love in the City, and The Lord's Vineyard Covenant Community for their continuing support and services to Taguig Lingap Center residents.
Closing the program, CSWDO Head Nikki Rose Operario thanked the Center's partners, stakeholders, and personnel, while reflecting on its transformation from a temporary holding facility into a refuge for children in need.
"Napakahaba na po ng journey ng center na ito, at mahaba na rin po ang journey ng mga staff na naglingkod dito. Marami na rin po kaming na-reintegrate na mga bata na naging residente ng Taguig Lingap Center. Napakalaking pasasalamat natin dahil ang idea lang talaga noon ay magkaroon ng holding area para sa mga batang walang mapaglagyan. Ngunit sa paglipas ng panahon, naging tahanan ito ng pag-asa para sa maraming kabataan."
