DOST-PCIEERD, in collaboration with De La Salle University and the DOST Accounting Division, held the Project Post-Implementation Forum on July 21, 2026.

This forum brought together project leaders and concerned personnel to strengthen the processes that follow successful project implementation. It covered key areas such as financial process flow, liquidation of project funds, equipment inventory and donation, project clearance, and the do’s and don’ts in managing project funds. It also provided a venue to address concerns on unliquidated balances and conduct project reconciliation with DLSU project teams.

Because the impact of R&D does not end when a project concludes; it continues through responsible stewardship and effective management of public funds. 🔬📊

The future of toxic and hazardous waste management starts with one important step: bringing the right people to the table.

DOST-PCIEERD gathered representatives from government, industry, academe, and development partners for the Toxic and Hazardous Waste (THW) R&D Roadmapping Activity.

This is an important step toward developing a sectoral R&D roadmap that will guide science, technology, and innovation interventions for toxic and hazardous waste management from 2027 to 2034.

The discussions focused on establishing a clear direction for the sector through four key outcomes:
✅ A validated baseline of the current toxic and hazardous waste landscape
✅ A better understanding of the priority challenges and issues confronting the sector
✅ Initial directions for future R&D efforts and innovation priorities
✅ A stronger foundation for roadmap development including stakeholder engagement, future consultations, and the establishment of a technical working group.

By bringing diverse perspectives together, DOST-PCIEERD is helping shape a more coordinated, science-driven, and forward-looking approach to toxic and hazardous waste management.
