The Signal Installation and Maintenance Battalion’s (SIMBn) Research and Development (R&D) Team led by MAJ GLENN PAUL L FORONDA (SC) PA, showcased the unit’s R&D project during the Multi-Sectoral Cyber Defense Exercise initiated by the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Command and Control, Communications, and Cyber Systems (G6, PA) held at Ricarte Hall, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, on 04-05 March 2026.

The event highlighted the importance of strengthening cyber resilience in response to emerging local and global cyber threats that pose strategic risks to governance, military readiness, economic stability, and public trust. It also served as a platform for participating units and stakeholders to enhance cyber defense capabilities in protecting critical information and communication systems.

Through its participation, the SIMBn R&D Team reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Philippine Army’s cyber defense initiatives by promoting innovation, strengthening information security, and contributing to the development of resilient and secure communication systems in support of national defense initiatives.

The Signal Installation and Maintenance Battalion, Signal Regiment, participated in the Philippine Army–wide bloodletting activity in celebration of the 129th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Army on 07 March 2025 at the Social Hall, Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, the activity aimed to support life-saving efforts through voluntary blood donation. Of the 30 personnel who underwent screening, 10 successfully donated blood, demonstrating their willingness to extend help beyond their military duties. Medical personnel ensured a safe and organized collection process while promoting awareness of the importance of blood donation.

Through this initiative, the battalion reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian service, highlighting that every drop of donated blood offers hope and the chance to save lives.

FORT ANDRES BONIFACIO, TAGUIG CITY – The Signal Installation and Maintenance Battalion, Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, under the leadership of Lt. Col. Christopher S Belardo, Acting Commanding Officer, together with the personnel of this unit gathered for a First Friday Holy Mass on 06 March 2026 at Social Hall, Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, Fort Andres Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The Mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. Lt. Col. Dionesio L. Acaso and was attended by officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources. The gathering provided an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal, promoting unity and strengthening the moral values of the unit. Personnel actively participated in the liturgy and offertory, and the celebration also included a blessing for the March birthday celebrants.

The activity highlighted the role of faith in reinforcing the soldiers’ commitment to serve with honor, patriotism, and duty.
