PRESS RELEASE: Developed and finalized by participants of the three-day Second Speakers Bureau Training of Trainers on the Bangsamoro Electoral Code, the resource kit is expected to become the standard material for grassroots voter education campaigns ahead of the Sept. 14 parliamentary elections.

The guide brings together in one package the Bangsamoro Electoral Code, the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Districts Act, the Commission on Elections' (COMELEC) implementing rules and regulations, and the parliamentary electoral process.

Pursuant to the Bangsamoro Holidays Act (BAA No. 39), the entire Bangsamoro region will observe the following holidays from May 26 to 28, 2026:

• May 26 (Tuesday): Day of Arafah (Special Non-Working Holiday)

• May 27 (Wednesday): Eid’l Adha (Regular Non-Working Holiday)

• May 28 (Thursday): 1st Day of Tashriq (Special Non-Working Holiday)

Please note that May 25 (Monday) remains a regular working day for all offices. Additionally, for offices on a Four-Day Compressed Workweek (Monday–Thursday), since Friday is already your regular rest day, your long weekend will effectively extend from Tuesday, May 26, all the way until Sunday, May 31, 2026.

The U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, represented by Mr. Mark Saavedra, Chief of the Internal Political Affairs Unit, paid a courtesy visit to the Manila Liaison Office of the Bangsamoro Parliament on May 14, 2026.

The meeting discussed the mandate and key functions of the MLO, including updates regarding the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections (BPE) 2026 and possible future engagements and collaborations in support of the Bangsamoro region, as the office continues to strengthen its partnerships and coordination with international partners and embassies.

The Manila Liaison Office of the Bangsamoro Parliament conducted a benchmarking activity with the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) on May 12, 2026, at the Malacañang Complex.

The activity aims to gain insights on legislative liaison mechanisms, executive-legislative coordination, stakeholder engagement, and the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC), as part of efforts to strengthen the capacity of MLO staff in supporting the functions and initiatives of the Bangsamoro Parliament.

Undersecretary Bernardino E. Sayo led the Delegation alongside Assistant Secretaries and Directors of the PLLO, The benchmarking activity is part of the continuing efforts of the Manila Liaison Office to further strengthen its institutional functions and built stronger working relationships with national government offices and partner institutions in Metro Manila.

On May 7, 2026, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, represented by Third Secretary Ms. Qurat Ul Ain Maryam, paid a courtesy visit to the Manila Liaison Office of the Bangsamoro Parliament.

The MLO under the direction of the Parliament Speaker Mohammad S Yacob Ph.D. , continues to strengthen its engagement with international partners and embassies in Metro Manila.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea, represented by First Secretary Song Hyuntae, paid a courtesy visit to the Manila Liaison Office of the Bangsamoro Parliament.

The meeting focused on possible scholarships and training opportunities for the Bangsamoro community. This series of embassy visits reflects continuous engagement, collaboration, and strengthening of relations between the Bangsamoro Parliament and its International partners.
