𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: Reinforcing its commitment to community welfare through the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝’𝐬 𝐢𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 initiatives, the 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐆𝐕𝐒), in collaboration with the 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐨𝐬 𝐁𝐚ñ𝐨𝐬 and the 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐛-𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐬 𝐁𝐚ñ𝐨𝐬, successfully conducted a 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 on 22 May 2026 at the Los Baños Municipal Building, Brgy. Timugan, Los Baños, Laguna.

Held under the banner of the 𝐏𝐂𝐆 𝐢𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 (𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭) program, the activity reflects the Unit's continuing efforts to deliver responsive, compassionate, and community-centered public service initiatives. During the one day activity, a total of 83 pets were spayed and neutered, including 14 male dogs, 18 female dogs, 27 male cats, and 24 female cats, underscoring the shared commitment of participating agencies to accessible veterinary care and community well-being.

Programs such as this strengthen the partnership between the Philippine Coast Guard, local government units, and communities in promoting public welfare, responsible pet ownership, and animal health.

The ceremony facilitated the turnover of responsibilities for several vital positions, including the Office of the 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟, 𝐂𝐆𝐕𝐒, and the Office of the 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥. Furthermore, the leadership of four Field Veterinary Units was officially transitioned:

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: Reinforcing its support of safer and healthier communities, the 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐆𝐕𝐒) took part in a mass spay and neuter activity held on 25 March 2026, aboard Municipal Building, Brgy. Timugan, Los Baños, Laguna.

The initiative was organized and led by the 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐨𝐬 𝐁𝐚ñ𝐨𝐬, with assistance from the 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐬 𝐁𝐚ñ𝐨𝐬. Conducted in line with 𝐑𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the event carried the theme “𝑹𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒆𝒔-𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒏𝒂 𝑷𝒖𝒔𝒂’𝒕 𝑨𝒔𝒐, 𝑲𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒕𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏 𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒐,” highlighting the shared responsibility of safeguarding both animal and human health. The effort not only improves animal welfare but also plays a vital role in minimizing the spread of Rabies and other public health risks. In addition to the procedures, pet owners were given guidance on responsible pet ownership, including proper care, vaccination, and the long-term benefits of kapon.

The activity underscored the importance of proactive and preventive measures in building safer neighborhoods. Through continued collaboration with local government units and other agencies, CGVS remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote animal health, responsible pet ownership, and community well-being.
