EIGHT MOST WANTED PERSONS ARRESTED IN ONE-DAY NATIONWIDE PNP OPERATIONS

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units in different parts of the country arrested eight wanted persons in separate operations on September 15, 2026, including individuals ranked among the Top 10 and regional most wanted lists.

In South Cotabato, police personnel arrested a No. 10 wanted person in Polomolok by virtue of a warrant for Statutory R**e, with no bail recommended. In Agusan del Norte, a No. 9 wanted person was arrested in Cabadbaran City on warrants for Acts of Lasciviousness and Statutory R**e. The case for Acts of Lasciviousness carries a recommended bail of ₱108,000.00, while no bail was recommended for the Statutory R**e case.

In Iloilo City, police arrested a No. 5 wanted person in Barangay Magsaysay Village, La Paz, for Statutory R**e, with no bail recommended. The operation involved CIDG Iloilo PFU, Carles MPS, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 6. In Tarlac, a No. 1 wanted person was arrested in Gerona at around 5:30 p.m. for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Am******on Regulation Act, in connection with the service of sentence.

Also in Lanao del Norte, another No. 1 wanted person was arrested in Iligan City for violation of RA 10591. A ₱120,000.00 bail was recommended in the case, and the arrested individual was turned over to CIDG Iligan CFU for proper disposition.

In Sarangani, police arrested a No. 10 wanted person in Malapatan at around 4:05 p.m. by virtue of a warrant for Murder, with no bail recommended. The operation involved local police, CIDG, intelligence and tracker teams, and other supporting units.

Meanwhile, in Cavite, police arrested two regional most wanted persons in separate operations. In Imus City, a regional most wanted person was arrested at around 8:30 p.m. for two counts of violation of Section 12, Article II of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and was taken into custody for return to the court of origin.

In General Trias City, another regional most wanted person was arrested for two counts of Statutory R**e, with no bail recommended.

The eight operations demonstrate the continuing coordination among local police units, CIDG, intelligence personnel, tracker teams, and other PNP units in locating persons with standing warrants and implementing court orders. The PNP emphasized that all arrested individuals will undergo the appropriate legal process and remain entitled to their rights under the law.

“We will continue to locate wanted persons, but we will do it the right way—through solid information, proper coordination, and lawful police action. Kapag may warrant, we make sure our personnel do their part to locate the person and implement the court order properly,” PGen Nartatez said.

He added that sustained warrant operations will continue, particularly against wanted persons included in priority lists, while reminding police personnel to maintain professionalism and proper procedures in every arrest.

₱4.4-MILLION ACCOUNT DISCREPANCY LEADS TO BANK TELLER’S ARREST IN PASIG

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., through the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), arrested a 34-year-old senior bank teller in Pasig City over an alleged unauthorized withdrawal involving a depositor’s account.

The case surfaced on September 14, 2026, after the depositor discovered that his expected ₱5,000,000.00 balance had dropped to ₱600,161.26, revealing a discrepancy of ₱4,399,838.74. The discovery followed his verification of a ₱46,000 interest payment that was not reflected in the account.

A bank inquiry subsequently led to the suspect’s alleged admission that she took the funds and falsified the depositor’s specimen signature to facilitate unauthorized withdrawals. She was brought to the Rosario Police Sub-Station, arrested, and later transferred to the Pasig City Police Station for documentation and filing of the appropriate complaint before undergoing physical examination at Rizal Medical Center.

PGEN Nartatez emphasized the PNP’s resolve to act on unlawful acts and uphold accountability. “Every complaint deserves proper investigation, and those who violate the law must be held accountable through due process.”

PHP4.29M SMUGGLED CIGARETTE RUN BLOCKED IN ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY WATERS

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., disrupted a suspected cigarette smuggling operation following the interception of a motorized boat carrying a multimillion-peso shipment in the waters of Siay, Zamboanga Sibugay on September 14, 2026.

The Zamboanga Sibugay Maritime Police Station (ZS MARPSTA), together with the Regional Maritime Unit 9 and other law enforcement units, intercepted the motorized boat “KAISIR,” which was found carrying 80 master cases of various cigarette brands without the required Graphic Health Warnings.

Two individuals were arrested during the operation, while the seized shipment was valued at PHP4,290,000.00. The suspects and confiscated ci******es were brought to the ZS MARPSTA for documentation, investigation, and proper disposition.

The shipment constitutes a violation of Section 4 of Republic Act No. 10643, or the Graphic Health Warnings Law. The PNP is also coordinating with the National To***co Administration and the Bureau of Internal Revenue for verification and appropriate further action on the seized cigarette products.

PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. underscored the importance of sustained enforcement against the movement of illicit goods through the country’s maritime routes.

PNP: BARMM ELECTION GENERALLY PEACEFUL, ORDERLY; POST-ELECTION ACTIVITIES 100% COMPLETE

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), the 2026 Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Election has generally concluded in a peaceful and orderly manner, with major post-election activities now completed across the region.

As of 2:00 PM today, September 16, the PNP’s Election Monitoring System recorded 100 percent completion in the transmission and counting of votes in all 1,186 monitored locations across BARMM. The return of election paraphernalia to the respective City/Municipal Treasurers’ Offices likewise reached full completion, while canvassing was completed in all 115 monitored canvassing locations.

The accomplishment comes after months of security preparations, coordination, and deployment involving police units across the region. The PNP adjusted its personnel and resources according to the security requirements on the ground, while maintaining close coordination with election authorities, local government units, partner agencies, and other stakeholders.

6,749 NEW POLICE RECRUITS NATIONWIDE TAKE OATH; 938 JOIN NATIONAL SUPPORT UNITS

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), newly appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen of the National Support Units (NSUs) formally took their oath of office Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the PNP Transformational Oval, Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City.

The ceremony marked the formal entry of 938 new police recruits into the PNP under the CY 2026 Regular and Attrition Recruitment Program, strengthening the personnel complement of the NSUs that provide specialized and essential support to the PNP’s nationwide police operations.

Meanwhile, a total of 5,811 new recruits are being welcomed across the Police Regional Offices under the same CY 2026 Regular and Attrition Recruitment Program, bringing the total number of new recruits entering the PNP nationwide to 6,749, including those assigned to the NSUs.

The oath-taking activities are being conducted nationwide, with all Police Regional Offices likewise holding ceremonies for their respective recruits. The simultaneous activities mark the PNP’s continuing effort to strengthen its personnel complement and ensure that police units across the country are adequately supported in carrying out their respective mandates.

In his message, CPNP Nartatez reminded the new police officers that taking their oath is not simply the beginning of a career, but the acceptance of a responsibility entrusted to them by the Filipino people.

“Kaya ingatan ninyo ang pagkakataong ito. Huwag ninyong sayangin ang tiwalang ipinagkaloob sa inyo. Being a police officer is more than having a stable job—it means accepting a responsibility that calls for discipline, integrity, and commitment. Every day, your actions will say something about you and about the organization you represent,” PGen Nartatez said.

He emphasized that while NSU personnel may perform duties different from those assigned to frontline units, their contribution remains essential to the overall mission of the PNP.

“Whatever your position or assignment do it well. Be competent in your work, follow the rules, support your fellow personnel and never compromise your integrity. There will be difficult days and situation that will test your character, when that happens, remember the oath you take today. Remember why you choose to serve,” the Chief PNP added.

The new personnel were encouraged to build their careers on competence, accountability, teamwork, and respect for the people they serve, recognizing that every assignment contributes to the PNP’s ability to deliver effective police services.

TWO CTG MEMBERS YIELD, TURN OVER FI****MS AND R***E GR***DE IN EASTERN VISAYAS

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, welcomed the return to the fold of the law of two members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in Eastern Visayas, who separately surrendered fi****ms, am******on, and a r***e gr***de during police engagements in Samar and Eastern Samar on September 14, 2026.

In Eastern Samar, alias “Gar,” 38, a farmer from General MacArthur, surrendered an unlicensed revolver and three rounds of am******on following the efforts of police units in facilitating his return to the community.

In Villareal, Samar, alias “Wino,” 32, also a farmer and former CTG member, turned over a 9mm pistol with defaced serial number, five rounds of am******on, one magazine, and a r***e gr***de after police personnel conducted community-based engagements in the area.

The two are now under the care of the respective police units for proper documentation and disposition of the surrendered items. Their possible participation in the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) is also being processed, consistent with government efforts to help former members reintegrate into peaceful communities.

For PGen Nartatez, the developments demonstrate how sustained police presence and engagement at the community level can create opportunities for individuals to leave armed activities and rebuild their lives.
