Wednesday was a day filled with the magic of stories and the joy of learning. We spent the day with a group of wonderful children of Kalamboan Early Childhood Development Center, nurturing their love for reading and igniting their imaginations.

From reading captivating stories aloud to engaging in educational activities, we saw their eyes light up with excitement and curiosity. It was inspiring to witness their enthusiasm as they explored new worlds, met fascinating characters, and discovered the power of words.

We believe that instilling a love for reading is a lifelong gift. It opens doors to knowledge, empathy, and endless possibilities. Seeing these children embrace the joy of reading fills us with hope for the future.

With the support of the City Government of Tagum in providing the Book Nook Mobile Library Bus, Teacher Ronalyn Taylor and Teacher Eunice Kaye Rama and alongside SK Magugpo North led by SK Chairperson Christian Fiel Alimpolo and SK Council — we look forward to our next adventure in the world of books!

Preparedness saves lives!

We successfully conducted a Disaster
Preparedness Orientation and Earthquake Drill at Tagum SDA Elementary School Inc. to strengthen awareness, readiness, and emergency response skills among our community members and youth.

Through this activity, participants learned the importance of staying calm, knowing the proper safety procedures, and being prepared before, during, and after an earthquake.

Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Magugpo North would like to thank City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and Tagum SDA Elementary School Inc. for partnering this kind of activity.

Together, let us build a safer, stronger, and more disaster-resilient community.

In celebration of the 2026 Linggo ng Kabataan in partnership of Philippine Red Cross Davao del Norte Chapter, conducted a Emergency Response Training, a one day training about emergency response & first aid to the students of Max Mirafuentes Academy.

Students must learn first aid to gain essential skills and knowledge to respond to emergencies, manage injuries, and provide immediate, temporary care until professional help arrives. Teaching first aid in schools is important because emergencies can occur unexpectedly in an academic setting, and it helps students remain calm and focused during critical situations.

Learning these basic skills also promotes a sense of responsibility and safety among students and can prevent injuries or illnesses from becoming more severe.

Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Magugpo North would like to thank the Philippine Red Cross davao del Norte Chapter and Max Mirafuentes Academy for having us as your training partner.
