On June 17, 2026, PCOL Cheryl P. Yatar, Chief of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 11 (RACU 11), welcomed a delegation from the International Justice Mission (IJM) Philippines, led by Atty. LJ Vallinas-Alegria, during a courtesy visit.

The engagement served as a platform to strengthen coordination and partnership between IJM Philippines and RACU 11 in the collective fight against Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and other internet-facilitated crimes against children. The collaboration reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to strengthening child protection efforts, enhancing case coordination, and combating online exploitation.

PMGEN Wilson C. Asueta, Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, underscored the significance of collaborative action in addressing crimes against children in cyberspace, stating, “Collaboration among stakeholders is essential in safeguarding children in the digital space. Through strengthened coordination and shared commitment, we can enhance our efforts against OSAEC and other cyber-enabled crimes against children.”

PNP ACG, UMARESTO NG 16 INDIBIDWAL DAHIL SA ILEGAL NA PAGBEBENTA NG MGA FINANCIAL ACCOUNT

Ang Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) ay patuloy na pinaigting ang kampanya laban sa mga sangkot sa online financial fraud matapos maaresto ang kabuuang labing-anim (16) na indibidwal sa magkakahiwalay na operasyon mula Hunyo 1 hanggang 15, 2026 dahil sa paglabag sa RA No. 12010 o ang Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (AFASA), kaugnay ng Section 6 ng RA No. 10175 o Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

Batay sa isinagawang imbestigasyon, ang mga suspek ay nasangkot sa ilegal na online na pagbebenta at pag-aalok ng mga financial account tulad ng e-wallet accounts, bank accounts, ATM cards, SIM cards, at iba pang financial account credentials na ginagamit ng mga sindikato upang magsagawa ng iba't ibang uri ng online scam at iba pang cyber-enabled crimes.

Sa ilalim ng AFASA, ipinagbabawal ang pagbebenta, paglilipat, pagpapaupa, o pagpapagamit ng mga financial account para sa anumang ilegal na aktibidad. Ang mga account na ito ay karaniwang ginagamit bilang "money mule accounts" upang maitago ang pinagmulan at destinasyon ng mga pondong nakulimbat mula sa mga biktima ng online scams.

Pinuri ni Chief, PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr. ang patuloy na pagsisikap ng ACG sa pagsugpo sa mga cybercriminal na gumagamit ng financial accounts bilang kasangkapan sa kanilang mga ilegal na gawain.

"Ang pagbebenta o pagpapagamit ng financial accounts ay hindi simpleng transaksyon lamang. Ito ay maaaring magamit sa panloloko at iba pang cybercrimes na nagdudulot ng malaking pinsala sa publiko. Patuloy nating pananagutin ang sinumang sangkot sa mga gawaing ito upang maprotektahan ang mamamayan laban sa mga online na manloloko," ani PGEN Nartatez.

Samantala, sinabi naman ni PNP ACG Director, Police Major General Wilson C. Asueta, na ang mga pag-arestong ito ay patunay ng determinasyon ng ACG na putulin ang mga mekanismong ginagamit ng mga cybercriminal sa kanilang operasyon.

"Muli naming pinaaalalahanan ang publiko na huwag ipagbili, iparenta, o ipagamit ang inyong mga financial account sa ibang tao. Ito ay ilegal at may kaakibat na multa at pagkakakulong. Ingatan ang inyong account, protektahan ang inyong sarili," pahayag ni PMGEN Asueta.

Patuloy namang hinihikayat ng PNP ACG ang publiko na maging mapanuri online at agad na iulat sa PNP ACG offices o pinakamalapit na police station ang anumang kahina-hinalang online activities upang maiwasang mabiktima ng mga cybercriminal.

SMS/Text-Based scams with fraudulent messages

Ang SMISHING ay isang uri ng scam kung saan gumagamit ang mga manloloko ng pekeng SMS o text message upang nakawin ang iyong personal na impormasyon, bank details, o one-time password (OTP).

UPANG MAIWASAN NA MABIKTIMA NG SCAM:

HUWAG ITONG SAGUTIN: Iwasang tumugon sa mensahe o magbigay ng anumang personal na impormasyon tulad ng mga dokumento ng pagkakakilanlan.

IWASAN MAG-CLICK NG LINK: Huwag i-click ang link na ito, Dadalhin ka nito sa isang pekeng pahina kung saan maaaring makuha at makompromiso ang mga detalye ng iyong Online Banking account.

I-ULAT ANG KAHINA-HINALANG AKTIBIDAD: Kung naniniwala kang ikaw ay naging target ng scam o nakatanggap ng mapanlinlang na komunikasyon, iulat ito sa kinauukulang provider o sa mga kaugnay na awtoridad.

From March 23 to 28, 2026, the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) conducted simultaneous operations that resulted in the arrest of eleven individuals with pending warrants of arrest for different cybercrime offenses.

Of those arrested, four are facing charges for violations of Articles 315 and 318 (Swindling/Estafa) or Article 310 (Qualified Theft) under the Revised Penal Code. Five individuals are charged with violations of Section 4(c)(4) (Cyber Libel) or Section 4(b)(1) (Computer-Related Forgery) under Republic Act No. 10175, otherwise known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

One individual is charged with violation of Republic Act No. 12010 (Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act), while another is facing charges under Republic Act No. 8484 (Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998), as amended by Republic Act No. 11449, in relation to Republic Act No. 10175.

PBGEN Wilson C. Asueta, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), commended the team for the successful arrest of wanted individuals. "Dedicated to promoting a safe and fair online environment, the PNP ACG urges all internet users to act responsibly and respect the rights and reputations of others," he added.

On March 24, 2026, at about 10:10 PM in Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur, operatives of the Ilocos Sur Provincial Cyber Response Team conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man, alias "Aldrin," for grooming and exploiting children to engage in online sexual activities.

"Aldrin" is facing charges for violation of Section 4(a) and (m) of RA No. 11930 [Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Materials (CSAEM)], in relation to Section 6 of Republic Act 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

PBGEN Wilson C. Asueta, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), commended the operatives for the successful entrapment operation. “The PNP ACG prioritizes the protection of children. We will continue to pursue and hold accountable those who commit online child abuse,” he said.

On March 24, 2026, at about 9:15 PM in Pagsanjan, Laguna, operatives of the Laguna Provincial Cyber Response Team conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 21-year-old woman, alias "Janna," for harassing and coercing a 24-year-old woman through a social media platform.

“Janna” is facing charges for violations of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code, RA No. 11313 (Safe Spaces Act), and RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009), all in relation to Section 6 of RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

PBGEN Wilson C. Asueta, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), commended the operatives for the successful operation. "If you are experiencing online harassment, report it immediately to the nearest PNP ACG office for appropriate and swift action," he also added.
