Today, we proudly recognize the outstanding achievement of the DEAFY App Team of Kapalong National High School and their dedicated coach, Ms. Maricel Timbal, for representing Davao del Norte in the PLDT and Smart Innovation Generation Season 4 (InnoGen 4).
Through determination, creativity, and a passion for inclusive innovation, the team composed of Prince Eco Barsilan, Jhydd Mahinay, Floyd Karlo Ganza, and Marvin Jhon Alegario developed DEAFYโan AI-powered application designed to translate sign language into text and speech, and vice versa. This groundbreaking solution aims to bridge communication gaps and promote accessibility for the deaf and hearing-impaired community.
What makes their journey even more remarkable is that these young innovators came from the CSS strand with limited programming experience, proving that with the right mentorship, perseverance, and vision, extraordinary things can be achieved.
Their success is more than a technological accomplishmentโit is a testament to the power of youth leadership, inclusive innovation, and the unwavering commitment of educators who inspire students to create meaningful change.
Congratulations, DEAFY App Creators! Your achievement has brought pride and honor to Kapalong and the entire Province of Davao del Norte.
May your story continue to inspire young Dabaonons to dream bigger, innovate boldly, and build solutions that make society more inclusive for everyone.
