Illegal Drug Supplier in Siargao Islands Busted by Caraga Cops; Over P1M of Suspected Shabu Seized
Camp Col Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City — A suspected illegal drug supplier operating in Dapa and General Luna, Siargao Islands, was apprehended by PNP Caraga drug operatives in Brgy. 13 Poblacion, Dapa, Surigao del Norte, yesterday, December 10.
PBGEN ALAN M. NAZARRO, Regional Director of PNP Caraga, commended the personnel of Dapa Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 13, for the apprehension of alias “HIWI,” 46 years old, through a buy-bust operation.
The suspect was found in possession of 150.789 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P1,025,462.32.
According to Dapa MPS, alias “HIWI” was listed as a high-value individual (HVI). Some arrested drug personalities disclosed that he was the primary supplier of dangerous drugs in the two municipalities. He was placed under surveillance by police operatives for months.
Violation of Republic Act No. 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, has been filed against him.
“I commend the Dapa MPS unit and our partner agency, PDEA 13, for their relentless intelligence and investigative efforts in capturing this drug supplier. We continue our intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the region to bring those personalities behind bars,” RD NAZARRO stated.
