The PNP-EOD/K9 personnel of RECU 2 Headquarters launched Project: Bomb Education and Life protection for the Local community (B.E.L.L.) as an Emerging Best Practice of RECU2 at San Roque Elementary School, Brgy. San Roque, Penablanca, Cagayan.

During the activity, the personnel replaced the 100 LBs General Purpose (GP) Bomb, which had been used as a bell in the school, and installed a new bell as a replacement for the unexploded ordnance (UXO).

Please always report all found/discovered U.X.O. to your nearest PNP EOD/K9 unit.

𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:

This is to inform the community to recognize potentially dangerous objects such as UXOs. Using UXO as a bell in school is extremely dangerous.
These objects may look harmless but can pose a serious threat to life and safety. Also, be aware that even old or rusted UXO can still explode if disturbed.

Pasay City – A 40-year-old male passenger from South Cotabato was apprehended today at NAIA Terminal 3 after allegedly making a bomb-related remark while boarding a domestic flight.

The passenger made a comment implying the presence of a bomb as a cabin crew member assisted with his carry-on baggage. Although the statement was intended as a joke, was immediately treated as a serious security threat and promptly reported in accordance with aviation safety protocols.

The Aviation Security Group, APD, and AVSECU EOD/K9 promptly responded and conducted a thorough aircraft inspection following SOPs to ensure passenger and crew safety. After confirming the absence of any explosives or hazardous materials, the aircraft was cleared and allowed to resume normal operations.

The suspect is now in the custody of the NAIA Police Station 3 (NPS3), for further legal proceedings and filing of case in relation to Presidential Decree No. 1727, also known as the Anti-Bomb Joke Law.

“We strongly remind the public that any mention of bombs or explosives, even as a joke, threatens airport safety, disrupts operations, and endangers lives. Such acts are punishable under Presidential Decree No. 1727,” said PBGen Christopher M Abecia, Director of the PNP Aviation Security Group. # # #.

At about 7:00 AM of May 28, 2025, Davao del Norte PECU personnel conducted Project A.B.K.D (Awareness of Bombs that Kill lives and Destroy Properties) to the Forty-Seven (47) personnel of Black Fighter Security Agency and Employees of Robinson's Place, at Brgy. Visayan, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

This best practice of PNP - EOD / K9 Group aims to raise self-awareness not only threat of bombing, but also to encourage regular vigilance, communication to report potential threats with the partnership of the community. Likewise this program address for the effectiveness of their emergency preparedness and response to any threats especially in terrorism.
