โ€‹During the Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) celebration, the Local Government Unit of Talacogon, led by Mayor Pauline Marie R. Masendo, RN , formally received a grant of โ‚ฑ1,155,000.00 from the ๐‘ซ๐’†๐’‘๐’‚๐’“๐’•๐’Ž๐’†๐’๐’• ๐’๐’‡ ๐‘บ๐’„๐’Š๐’†๐’๐’„๐’† ๐’‚๐’๐’… ๐‘ป๐’†๐’„๐’‰๐’๐’๐’๐’๐’ˆ๐’š (๐‘ซ๐‘ถ๐‘บ๐‘ป) โ€“ ๐‘ช๐’‚๐’“๐’‚๐’ˆ๐’‚ ๐‘น๐’†๐’ˆ๐’Š๐’๐’.

โ€‹Accepting the check on behalf of the municipality were Municipal Administrator Gina Balayo Gatab , Municipal Accountant Marvin Villafuerte, and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (MDRRM) Officer MT Johnmar Galdiano.

โ€‹The grant will fund the procurement and installation of an advanced telemetry Flood Early Warning System (EWS) at Tulay ng Pangulo, Purok 9, Barangay Del Monte. This initiative aims to strengthen the municipalityโ€™s disaster risk reduction and management capabilities, enhancing local resilience against climate-related hazards.

โ€‹The LGU expresses its sincere gratitude to DOST-Caraga for its continued support and partnership in building a safer, smarter, and more resilient Talacogon.
