📌LGU-TALACOGON STRENGTHENS ANTI-ILLEGAL DRUGS ADVOCACY THROUGH YOUTH AWARENESS SYMPOSIUM

A total of 80 Grade 11 students from Talacogon National High School participated in a Symposium on Anti-Illegal Drugs, an initiative aimed at strengthening awareness among the youth about the dangers of illegal drugs and other issues affecting their safety and well-being.

The activity forms part of the continuing advocacy of the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Pauline Marie R. Masendo, RN, in partnership with TCB-SURE, to promote drug prevention, responsible decision-making and a safer community for the youth.

During the symposium, MADAC Focal Person Myra H. Samoramos discussed the harmful effects of illegal drugs and emphasized the importance of staying away from prohibited substances and illegal drug-related activities to avoid being recruited or used as drug couriers.

Meanwhile, personnel from the Talacogon Municipal Police Station discussed the dangers and consequences of bringing fi****ms into school premises, as well as the growing concern over cyberbullying. These topics were covered under Project SAFE, reinforcing the importance of school safety, responsible online behavior and respect for others.

LOOK || Strengthening the fight against illegal drugs takes more than individual efforts, it calls for strong coordination, shared responsibility, and a unified commitment among local Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs) and partner agencies.

Today, September 11, ADAC focal persons from the municipalities and representatives of concerned agencies came together for a coordination meeting to align plans, synchronize activities, and reinforce collaborative efforts in implementing anti-drug programs across Agusan del Sur. The gathering provided an avenue to strengthen inter-agency coordination and ensure that initiatives are responsive, complementary, and effectively carried out at the community level.

With every office doing its part and every community sharing the responsibility, Agusan del Sur continues to work toward safer, healthier, and drug-free communities.

Kabahin sa annual nga panagtapok sa atong mga Persons Who Use Drugs (PWUDS) ang After-Care Activity ug Community Service, sa atong padayong paningkamot aron makab-ot ang Drug-Cleared Municipality sa Talacogon.

Gitambongan kini ni Municipal Administrator Gina B. Gatab, MPA, nga nagrepresentar kang MADAC Chair Mayor Pauline Marie R. Masendo, RN, uban ni TCB-SURE Focal Vice Mayor Elvin L. Maligsa, PDEA Provincial Director Jenalyn Tan, ug SB Member Bendoz Almonte.

Naghatag usab og inputs si PDEA Agent Miko mahitungod sa Republic Act No. 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, nga naglatid sa mga balaod ug programa batok sa illegal nga droga.

Gitambongan kini sa atong mga PWUDS gikan sa 14 ka barangays sa Talacogon, uban sa pagdumala ni MADAC Focal Myra H. Samoramos mga kaubanan ug mga Barangay Secretaries.

Isip kabahin sa After-Care Activity and Community Service, aktibong miapil ang mga Persons Who Use Drugs (PWUDs) sa Clean-Up Drive isip ilang pamaagi sa pagpakita sa ilang pag-apil ug responsibilidad sa komunidad.

Pinaagi sa maong kalihokan, ilang gipakita nga ang pagbag-o dili lamang kutob sa kaugalingon, apan mahimo usab nga makita pinaagi sa pag-alagad, pagtabang, ug pag-amuma sa komunidad.

Gisuportahan kini nga mga aktibidades sa atong MADAC Chairperson Mayor Pauline Marie R. Masendo, RN, uban ni TCB-SURE Focal Vice Mayor Elvin L. Maligsa, isip kabahin sa padayon nga mga programa alang sa recovery, reintegration, ug meaningful community involvement sa mga PWUDs.

📌PNP Talacogon with MADAC Conducts Anti-Illegal Drugs and Basic Life Support Symposium

The Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC), in partnership with TCB-SURE Talacogon, under the leadership of Mayor Pauline Marie R. Masendo, RN, successfully conducted a Symposium on Anti-Illegal Drugs and Basic Life Support in Barangay San Nicolas.

The activity was carried out in collaboration with the Talacogon Municipal Police Station, represented by PMSg Ma Theresa S Rizon under the leadership of PLT Michael Rod G Urbiztondo, along with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel headed by Gelein Chato V Asis.

Punong Barangay Michelyn J. Quijada, who also serves as the Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) President, was present during the activity together with barangay officials, volunteers, staff, and community leaders of Barangay San Nicolas.

The symposium aimed to strengthen awareness on the dangers of illegal drugs while equipping participants with essential life-saving skills through Basic Life Support training.

This initiative highlights the continued commitment of the local government and partner agencies in promoting a drug-free, safe, and resilient community.
