🐚 A Promising Start for the Shell Decorative Product Development Training!

The first day of the Shell Decorative Product Development Training in President Carlos P. Garcia, Bohol was successfully conducted, bringing together local partners, community members, and stakeholders who share the same vision of creating new livelihood opportunities through shell-based products.

The energy and participation during the opening clearly showed that this initiative carries so much potential and many exciting possibilities for the community.

While the training equips participants with new skills in shell decorative product making, this activity is only the beginning. There is still so much more to come as government partners and stakeholders continue to explore ways to develop and strengthen the shell industry in the municipality.

Through collaboration between the Department of Trade and Industry – Negosyo Center, the Local Government Unit of President Carlos P. Garcia, Bohol, and private sector partner R & G Shells Trading, this initiative hopes to lay the foundation for a sustainable and thriving shell decorative products industry that can benefit the local community for years to come.

This is just the start of a journey — and we are excited for what lies ahead. ✨

Strengthening Women-Led Enterprises in Getafe

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Area 2 participated in the Monthly Meeting of the Buyog Women’s Association in Getafe, Bohol to discuss upcoming initiatives focused on raffia value-adding and product development.

Following the successful raffia weaving activity and establishment of their weaving center, the association is now preparing for a follow-up training on raffia bag-making — a value-adding step aimed at transforming woven raffia rolls into market-ready products.

With the LGU’s upcoming tourism hub near the port, this initiative positions the association to become potential suppliers of locally-made raffia crafts for display and sale, contributing to inclusive and sustainable local economic growth.
