After our discussion with 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁, 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, we have agreed to 𝗦𝗨𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗗 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗘-𝗧𝗢-𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟𝗦 starting this 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬, 𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗟 𝗙𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘 due to the 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗬𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗡 “𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗢.”

I asked the private schools earlier that I include them sa suspension announcement. Some were okay. Some asked me to still keep it that it will be their decision.

So with that, for 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟𝗦, the decision to suspend classes will be up to their respective administrators, depending on their weather assessment. Agreement in the comment section.

Nevertheless, I urge you to suspend classes as well. Thank you.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗦𝗪𝗠 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 (𝗪𝗔𝗖𝗦)

In compliance with Section 230 of Republic Act No. 9003, also known as the “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000”, the ESWM Office is conducting the Waste Analysis and Characterization Study (WACS) in the 22 barangays of Talisay City, Cebu for the year 2025.

The purpose of WACS is to document existing waste management practices, establish the waste production rate and diversion rates, and set down data bases that will be vital in enhancing the solid waste management plans of the LGU. Under the guidance and contents regulated by Appendix 2 of DAO 2001-34, the practice is done in different stages, including orientation and training, and the actual five day waste characterization, including households, establishments, institutions, as well as public markets.

This effort is another step in the place for a more responsible, green, and sustainable society. 🌱♻️

𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗽

Last September 20, 2025, the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) was celebrated in the City of Talisay with the help of organizing the activities in the coastal barangays of Tangke, San Roque, Cansojong, Poblacion, Dumlog, Biasong, and Pooc. The project was spearheaded by the Environmental and Solid Waste Management (ESWM) Office. The initiative resulted in the removal of 14,326 kilos of waste in the coastal areas of the city.

The participants included the City Mayor, City Vice Mayor, and the City Council members with the company of the Mayor’s Office, City Administrator, City Planning and Development Coordinator, Budget Office, General Services Office, Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), and DRRM.

The government agencies that were present in the cleanup included the AFP, BFP, PNP, BJMP, and BOF. They had the companionship of the barangay officials, Talisay City College, SK Federation, Urban Poor Federation (FETCUDA), Pagtambayayong Foundation, Philippine Coast Guard, BHW, BDRRMC, and Bantay Dagat. Other volunteers were those of the Ministry of Lectors and Cantors of Sto. Niño from Barangay Mohon, Pooc Elementary School, G-Box Employees, FISICA, J810 & Development Corporation, LECTORS, ERPAT, Association of E-bike Drivers, Solo Parent Association, KALIPI, and Cognizant Call Center.

The ICC this year highlighted the spirit of bayanihan among the Talisaynons as city officials, government agencies, organizations, and volunteers collaborated to conserve the marine resources of the city as well as enhance a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. 🌱♻️🌊

In celebration of the Coastal Month, the City of Talisay conducted a simultaneous coastal clean up in the seven coastal barangays, Brgy San Roque, Tanke, Cansojong, Poblacion, Dumlog, Biasong and Pooc. It was participated by the different national agencies: BFP, BJMP, PNP and Coast Guard, NGO's and PO's and the PIEP Cebu chapter, USC Marine Bio alumni, Bantay Dagat and Talisay fisherfolks, the Barangay BHW, Tanods and different Urban Poor association of the City
