Pooc National High School joins the world to commemorate the World AIDS Day 2025, with the theme, "Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response", calling for sustained political leadership, international cooperation, and human-rights-based approaches to end AIDS by 2030.

After decades of progress, the HIV response stands at a crossroads. Life-saving services are being disrupted, and many communities face heightened risks and vulnerabilities. Yet amid these challenges, hope endures in the determination, resilience, and innovation of communities who strive to end AIDS. - WHO

After the recent earthquake and typhoon, Pooc National High School implemented mental health response activities to support learners as classes resumed. The school began with a “Kumustahan Session” in every class to check on students’ well-being and allow them to share how they felt after the disaster.

Selected sections also joined psychosocial activities to help them relax and cope. These included yoga or meditation for calming the mind and body and story-sharing sessions where learners talked about their experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

These simple interventions helped students feel heard, supported, and ready to return to their normal routines, showing Pooc National High School’s commitment to the emotional well-being of its learners.

As a gesture of gratitude and legacy, the Senior High School Batch 2022-2024, along with the Senior and Junior High School Batch 2024-2025 of Pooc National High School, initiated a fundraising activity to support the school’s needs. Through their collective efforts, they were able to provide a water dispenser and contribute to the stage backdrop renovation project for the benefit of the entire school community.

One of the major fundraising events was the school’s first-ever JS Prom, organized with the cooperation of Grade 10 and Grade 12 students & advisers, teachers, and the SSLG. Through this collaborative effort, the stage backdrop renovation was successfully completed. Meanwhile, the water dispenser was officially turned over to the school last Thursday.

This donation symbolizes the unity, generosity, and dedication of the batches involved, aiming to leave a meaningful legacy for future Pooc National High School learners. The project reflects the spirit of bayanihan, leadership, and social responsibility that has been nurtured among the students during their years at school.
