TAGUIG CITY, Philippines (August 13, 2026)โ The Technological University of the Philippines Visayas (TUPV) Tractor Project Team visited the TUP Taguig Research and Extension (R&E) office yesterday for a benchmarking session. This activity is part of the implementation of the DOST GIA-funded TUPV project, "Development and Fabrication of Local Open-System Tractor Machine."
What started as an exchange of best practices for publishing research outputs has grown into a collaborative effort to share campus expertise. Moving forward, TUP Taguig will guide the TUPV Tractor Project team in successfully publishing their R&D findings. In return, TUP Visayas will step in to help TUP Taguig commercialize their own local technologies.
The benchmarking meeting brought together key personnel from both campuses to map out the initiative. The TUP Taguig R&E team included Dr. Hector M. Tibo, Dr. Zacharias John A. Belmonte, Engr. Jane E. Morgado, Dr. Lieda A. Sobida, and Ms. Cindy Q. Maldecir. Representing TUP Visayas were Mr. Julius Remar A. Gabiota and Engr. Adrian S. Delos Silos.
By pooling their respective strengths in research publication and technology transfer, both campuses are taking practical steps to help the university achieve its broader goals in R&D and commercialization.
