SUSPENSION OF FACE TO FACE CLASSES TOMORROW
Hi kids, since you’re already in school today, we don’t want to disrupt the schedules of your parents or guardians who will be picking you up. Basin nag work pa sad sila karon or naa pa silay other responsibilities, so we will NOT be implementing an early dismissal today.
For now, please stay inside your classrooms as much as possible and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities.
Tomorrow, however, after coordination with our DepEd and CDRRMO, we will be suspending face to face classes in ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS in Talisay City.
This is due to the current air quality situation affecting Metro Cebu. According to DENR-EMB 7, our air quality has already reached the “acutely unhealthy” level. Because of this, we believe it is better to limit the exposure of our children, teachers, and school personnel until conditions improve.
For Talisay City College and all private schools, the decision on whether to suspend face to face classes will be left to their respective school administrators.
Please stay indoors as much as possible, wear a mask when you need to go outside, and stay safe everyone

𝗦𝗗𝗢 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗙𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗞𝗜𝗖𝗞-𝗢𝗙𝗙 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗬
Dako nakong kalipay to join DepED earlier today to celebrate three very important events.
1. The Division Schools Press Conference
2. The Division Festival of Talents
3. The Division Science and Technology Fair.
These three celebrations remind us of something very important, every child has a talent worth nurturing.
As a parent, I know what it feels like to watch our children grow. As they grow older, we slowly discover who they are becoming. We learn what food they like and dislike, what movies they enjoy, what kind of music they listen to, and more importantly, we begin to discover their talents, their interests, and the things that they truly love doing.
As parents, teachers, and leaders, part of our responsibility is to help them discover those talents and give them every opportunity to develop them.
Some children are gifted in sports and we have competitions and programs where they can show what they can do. But not every child will be an athlete.
Some of you are writers. Some are reporters and future journalists. Some can tell powerful stories through photographs, cartoons, and editorials.
Some of you are dancers, performers, cooks, artists, and young people who will help preserve our culture and traditions.
And some of you are future scientists, engineers, inventors, and innovators, students who are already building projects, conducting experiments, and even creating robots at such a young age.
Different talents. Different interests. Different dreams. But all of them are important. For me, leadership should always be inclusive, just as education should always be inclusive. Every child deserves a chance to participate and every child deserves a moment to shine.
And today, this is your moment.
To all our students, gusto lang gyud nako mahibawan ninyo nga naa ra kanunay ang City Government of Talisay nga andam motabang ug mosuporta kaninyo.
Whether your passion is in journalism, science and technology, culture and the arts, sports, academics, or any other field, we want you to know that there is a place for you.
Padayon sa pagtuon. Padayon sa pag discover sa inyong talento. Padayon sa pagdamgo.
Because when we give every young Talisaynon the opportunity to discover what they love and what they are capable of, we are not only developing talented students, we are helping build the future of our city.
Congratulations to DepEd Talisay City and to everyone who worked hard to make these activities possible.
And to all our participants: today is your time to shine.

AIR QUALITY LEVEL STATEMENT
Right now, we have already contacted EMB to clarify their guidelines regarding this matter.
Akong concern, and what I also expressed to them, is why they would issue a public pronouncement without having clear and corresponding guidelines on the proper course of action after such a statement.
I just spoke with the Regional Director, and they are currently discussing what steps should be taken moving forward, including the basis or threshold for any possible suspension.
I also want to clarify that while the monitoring station is located in Talisay, the reading is intended to reflect the air quality of the whole Metro Cebu area. So if the recommendation is to suspend activities based on that reading, then it should logically apply across Metro Cebu and not to Talisay alone.
At present, however, EMB has informed us that they still do not have specific guidelines on when suspensions should be implemented.
I have already expressed all my concerns regarding the issuance of such pronouncements without clear guidelines, particularly on what specific data, level, or threshold should serve as the basis for suspension.
Will continue to update you, Ma’am and Sirs, as soon as EMB provides clearer guidance.
