The Municipality of Pagayawan, Lanao del Sur, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Khalida D. Polao, through the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), successfully celebrated International Youth Day 2026 through a Pickleball Friendship Game held on August 12, 2026, at the Municipal Gymnasium, Pagayawan, Lanao del Sur.

The activity brought together the youth of Pagayawan in the spirit of friendship, teamwork, unity, sportsmanship, and healthy competition. More than just a game, it provided an opportunity for young people to connect, strengthen camaraderie, showcase their skills, and actively participate in meaningful community activities.

The Municipality of Pagayawan and the LYDO extend their heartfelt appreciation to all youth participants, barangay representatives, game officials, partners, and everyone who contributed to the success of the activity.

On August 3, 2026, the Municipality of Pagayawan successfully conducted the Municipal Education Summit 2026, bringing together the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education, the Local Government Unit, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Barangay Chairpersons, representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), school leaders, teachers, learners, partner agencies, and other stakeholders in a shared commitment to advancing quality, inclusive, and responsive education for every Pagayawanen.

The summit officially commenced with the 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗦 (𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺) 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀, a significant platform that highlighted the current state of education in the municipality through the presentation of school performance based on key educational indicators. The activity was graced by 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨 𝘿𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘿𝙧. 𝘼𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝙕𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙞𝙙𝙖 𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙚 and Division personnel, together with 𝙈𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙧 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙆𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙖 𝘿𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙤, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Barangay Chairpersons, representatives from the PNP and AFP, school heads, teachers, learners, partner agencies, and other distinguished guests.

As the first major component of the summit, the DIVIMASS Presentation enabled educational leaders to assess the performance of their respective schools, celebrate gains, identify existing gaps, and present evidence-based recommendations to further improve the quality of education in Pagayawan. It also served as an avenue for school heads to communicate the priority needs and concerns of their schools directly to the Local Government Unit, fostering a stronger partnership in addressing educational challenges and strengthening support mechanisms for schools and learners alike.

More than a presentation of figures and accomplishments, the DIVIMASS reinforced the value of data-driven leadership, collaborative planning, and shared accountability in creating responsive educational policies and interventions. It reflected the collective determination of DepEd, the LGU, and education stakeholders to continuously raise the standard of education and ensure that every learner receives the opportunities they deserve.

Following the DIVIMASS Presentation, 𝙈𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙧 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙆𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙖 𝘿𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙤 delivered her 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀, where she reaffirmed the Local Government Unit's steadfast commitment to advancing education through 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗞𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗱. In her address, she laid down the municipality's vision and strategic direction for education, emphasizing that investing in learners, empowering educators, and strengthening partnerships remain among the LGU's highest priorities in building a better future for Pagayawan.

The summit concluded with the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, symbolizing the unified commitment of the Local Government Unit, the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education, school leaders, government agencies, and education stakeholders to continue working hand in hand in transforming the educational landscape of Pagayawan.

The Local Government Unit of Pagayawan successfully celebrated the Municipal Nutrition Month Celebration 2026 on July 8, 2026, bringing together Kindergarten learners, Child Development Centers (Day Care Centers), parents, teachers, and partner agencies in promoting the importance of proper nutrition, health, and early childhood development.

The celebration officially commenced with an inspiring opening message from 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗼, reaffirming the LGU's commitment to ensuring that every child in Pagayawan grows up healthy, nourished, and ready to learn.

Throughout June 2026, the Local Government Unit of Pagayawan, through the 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗞𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, conducted a series of distributions of school supplies to all schools under the Pagayawan District, benefiting learners from Kindergarten to Senior High School.

Demonstrating her unwavering commitment to education, 𝙈𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙧 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙆𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙖 𝘿. 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙤-𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙖 personally led the distribution of school supplies, visiting the schools and handing the bags and learning materials directly to the students. Each learner received a school bag and school supplies appropriate to their respective grade level, ensuring that they were well-equipped and ready for the opening of the new school year.

This initiative aimed not only to prepare students for the academic year but also to help ease the financial burden on parents by providing essential educational materials. Through the 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗞𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, the Municipality continues to invest in the education and future of every young Pagayawanen.

𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐎 𝐒𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓

In every community, peace is both a sacred responsibility and a shared aspiration. Today, another significant milestone was achieved as the 𝐀𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 and the 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 chose the path of reconciliation, proving that understanding and forgiveness are far greater than conflict and division.

Through the steadfast leadership of the 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧, a long-standing misunderstanding was peacefully resolved through sincere dialogue, mutual respect, and the collective desire to restore harmony. What once divided two families has now become a testament to the power of unity and reconciliation.

Guided by 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚 𝐃. 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐨, Municipal Mayor of Pagayawan, the settlement was successfully carried out with the invaluable support of the 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐌𝐏𝐒)headed by 𝐏𝐂𝐏𝐓 𝐆𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐕. 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐬, together with the 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 & 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 (𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐒).

Through their collective wisdom, guidance, and unwavering commitment to peacebuilding, the parties were encouraged to set aside differences and embrace lasting reconciliation.

In view of the potential impacts of Typhoon Inday and to ensure the safety and welfare of the public, work in all government offices and classes at all levels, both public and private schools, in the Municipality of Pagayawan are hereby SUSPENDED on July 9, 2026 (Thursday).

Residents are strongly advised to remain vigilant, monitor official weather updates, and take the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of their families.
