2ID Soldiers Pour Support to Auring-Affected Families in CARAGA
CAMP CAPINPIN, Tanay, Rizal, February 26, 2021- Soldiers of the Army's 2nd Infantry Division, through the Jungle Fighter Ladies' Club (JFLC), showed their support to those affected by typhoon Auring by donating a portion of their day's meal allowance.
More than Php 140,000 was collected from the troops in response to the Call for Donations initiated by the JFLC for the families in dire need of support after being struck by the typhoon.
The amount will be turned over to the Bayugan Young Leaders Organization or BYLO - a Youth for Peace organization facilitating relief efforts in CARAGA and JFLC's partner during the onslaught of Vicky in the region last December 2020.
Mrs. Lynette C Almerol, Club Adviser, recalled how the BYLO was among the first ones who helped JFLC during their series of relief operations across Rizal province after typhoon Ulysses in November last year.
"Your continuous efforts in helping others in these tough times inspire us to do more and support causes that may change the lives of others."
Meanwhile, Mrs. Sisa S Cabangbang, President of the JFLC, expressed her admiration of the soldiers' willingness in extending help to those affected by the challenges in our country.
"Your sympathies will surely be felt by our brothers and sisters in CARAGA, and your act of kindness, no matter how small you think it may be, will go a long way in helping them get through this calamity."
For his part, MGen Greg T Almerol, Commander of 2ID, recognized the selflessness of his troops and emphasized that it is the duty of every soldier to live their life in service of their countrymen, not only in their area of responsibility but in every part of the country.
The JFLC which is composed of wives of officers and enlisted personnel, female officers, enlisted women, and female civilian employees of the Division are very active in advocating service to the people in support of the mission of the 2ID as a whole.
