CHARLIE BATTERY, 5FAB CONDUCTS JOINT CHANGE OF OFFICE CEREMONY FOR KEY ENLISTED LEADERS

H/C/5FAB, Camp Elias Angeles, Pili, Camarines Sur – Personnel of Charlie Battery, 5th Field Artillery Battalion (C/5FAB), conducted a Joint Change of Office Ceremony for its outgoing and incoming key enlisted leaders, with CPT JOSIL A SARCIA (ART) PA, Battery Commander, C/5FAB, serving as the Presiding Officer.

The ceremony formally recognized the transition of responsibilities from the outgoing Battery First Sergeant, TSg Delfin B Salvia Jr (Art) PA, to the incoming Battery First Sergeant, TSg David B Paragua Jr (Art) PA. It likewise marked the turnover of duties from the outgoing Platoon Sergeant, TSg Felipe T Santillas Jr (Art) PA, to the incoming Platoon Sergeant of the 1st Platoon, C/5FAB, SSg Eliseo N Gran Jr (Art) PA.
The change of office signifies the orderly transfer of leadership, authority, and responsibilities, ensuring continuity in the administration, discipline, training, and welfare of personnel. It also reflects the Philippine Army’s commitment to developing capable non-commissioned officers who are prepared to lead, mentor, and inspire their fellow soldiers.

The visit provided an opportunity for the commanders to discuss unit capabilities, operational concerns, and areas of mutual support. BGEN ACIERTO emphasized the importance of maintaining operational readiness, strengthening coordination, and enhancing the capabilities of units to effectively respond to evolving operational requirements.

5FAB Conducts Platoon Visitation, 3Cs for Competence, Commitment, and Character

1/A/5FAB, Camp Alfredo M Santos – On 31 August 2026, LTC GERRY B DADANG ART (GSC) PA, Acting Commanding Officer of the 5th Field Artillery Battalion conducted a platoon visitation to the 1st Howitzer Platoon, Alpha Battery, as part of his continuing efforts to personally engage with his personnel and strengthen their morale and commitment to duty.

During his engagement with the personnel, LTC DADANG emphasized that competence is developed through continuous training, dedication, and mastery of artillery skills, enabling soldiers to perform their duties with professionalism and effectiveness. He likewise stressed that confidence is strengthened through discipline, teamwork, and mutual trust among members of the unit.

Most importantly, LTC DADANG encouraged the personnel to embrace positive change and continuously develop their character, emphasizing the importance of integrity, responsibility, resilience, and accountability in the performance of their duties. He reminded them that these values are essential in becoming dependable and effective soldiers of the AFP.

5FAB KM250 Returns to Service After Successful Restoration

Camp Guillermo Nakar, Lucena City, Quezon-A newly repaired and restored KM250 vehicle of the 5th Field Artillery Battalion, Artillery Regiment, Philippine Army, has been successfully returned to service following its repair and restoration by the 4th Forward Service Support Unit (4FSSU), Army Support Command (ASCOM), PA.

On 25 August 2026, the vehicle successfully underwent the Tactical Inspection and Annual Check (TIAC) and was subsequently blessed by REV FR LTC JUAN JEROME C DALURO, CHS, Command Chaplain, Southern Luzon Command (SOLCOM), as a prayer for safety, protection, and guidance in its continued service.

The 5FAB Commanding Officer, LTC GERRY B DADANG ART (GSC) PA, expressed his sincere appreciation to Team 4FSSU, ASCOM, PA for their unwavering support, technical expertise, and dedicated efforts in restoring the vehicle and contributing to the battalion’s operational readiness.

The restoration and return to service of the KM250 underscore the 5FAB’s commitment to equipment readiness, stewardship, and mission accomplishment in service to the nation.
