𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗦𝗔𝗖 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Committee (MSAC) of Surigao del Sur convened its first semestral meeting for Calendar Year 2026 on May 26, 2026, at the SCI Building, Capitol Hills, Tandag City.

The meeting, chaired by the DILG Surigao del Sur, was actively participated in by heads of offices and representatives from various national government agencies, including the DICT, DAR, DA, DSWD, DOH, DTI, LTO–Tandag, DepEd, DOJ–Prosecutor’s Office, TESDA, DOLE, NCIP, and Balay Mindanaw as the civil society organization partner.

The Provincial Government, through the Surigao del Sur Academy for Barangay Good Governance, represented by the Provincial Administrator, Mr. John Vincent Pimentel, likewise participated in the activity.

A key highlight of the meeting was the presentation of current programs and proposed innovations by MSAC members, showcasing collaborative initiatives aimed at strengthening local governance and service delivery. The committee also adopted the expanded membership of the MSAC, which now includes the PIA, Radyo Pilipinas, PSA, and PNP.

To recall, the MSAC continues to serve as a vital convergence mechanism that harmonizes the efforts of various stakeholders toward responsive governance—fostering a more connected, empowered, and sustainable Surigao del Sur.

The Province of Surigao del Sur and all its 19 Local Government Units have successfully passed the CY 2026 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Assessment.

This achievement reflects the unwavering commitment of our LGUs to promoting and protecting the rights and welfare of every child through responsive governance, strengthened child protection mechanisms, and sustained implementation of child-focused programs and initiatives.

Join us as Datu Matunaw Rodel Gole, fondly known in the community as "Former" for his years of service as former Punong Barangay, shares the inspiring story of the Manobo community in Brgy Umalag, San Miguel—its heritage, traditions, aspirations, and continuing efforts to preserve its identity while embracing opportunities for growth and development.

The DILG Surigao del Sur extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Local Government Unit of San Miguel, headed by the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Michael Corilla, and to MLGOO Ma. Rosario Ambray of DILG San Miguel for their invaluable support and assistance in making this episode possible. We likewise express our gratitude to the Punong Barangay Wely Gole and the people of Barangay Umalag for warmly welcoming our team and allowing us to document and share their story.
