The Internal Audit Service Office (IASO) of the Province of Surigao del Sur successfully hosted the Monday Program on August 17, 2026, at Gov. Vicente T. Pimentel, Jr. Multipurpose Hall and Evacuation Center, where the Office presented its updates and accomplishments covering the period September 2025 to July 2026.

The activity provided an opportunity to highlight the IASO’s efforts in strengthening internal controls, promoting accountability, assessing risks, and supporting the efficient and effective delivery of government services.

The Internal Audit Exit Conference was successfully conducted at San Miguel Community Hospital with the Hospital Chief, Dr. Sylva F. Dime, and hospital staffs.

We appreciate the active participation, openness, and commitment of the hospital leadership and staff in ensuring efficient healthcare service delivery to the community.

The Internal Audit Service Office (IASO) successfully conducted a three-day Gender and Development (GAD) Activity on July 22-24, 2026, at ARQ Hotel, Britania, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur, with the theme “Championing Equality, Safeguarding Rights: Leading with Gender Sensitivity for Inclusive Growth”. The activity featured Mrs. Milagros L. Arreza as the resource speaker, who shared valuable insights on the Magna Carta of Women and practical approaches to preventing and responding to gender-based harassment in public and online spaces. Through her discussions, the activity aimed to deepen the IASO personnel's understanding of women's rights and gender equality while promoting equal opportunities, protection from discrimination, empowerment, and the creation of safe and respectful environments.

The Gender and Development (GAD) activity is in line with the provisions of the Magna Carta of Women (Republic Act No. 9710), the Philippine Development Plan, and the Philippine Commission on Women's Gender and Development Agenda, promoting gender equality, women's empowerment, and the prevention of gender-based violence and discrimination.

TRAINING ON THE IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE NEW GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT ACT (RA 12009)

Venue: Luxent Hotel, 51 Timog Ave., Diliman, Quezon City

Dates: June 23-25, 2026

The training aimed to enhance the knowledge, understanding, and competency of government officials and personnel in the implementation of the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the New Government Procurement Act (Republic Act No. 12009). It sought to familiarize with the law's updated procurement policies, procedures, and reforms, strengthen compliance with statutory procurement requirements, promote transparency, accountability, efficiency, and value for money in public procurement, and equip participants with the practical skills necessary for the proper planning, conduct, and management of government procurement activities in accordance with the principles and provisions of RA No. 12009 and its IRR.

Budget Forum 2026: Sustaining PFM Gains and Advancing Strategic Procurement

Internal Audit team participated in the Budget Forum for Fiscal Year 2027, hosted by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and Caraga Budget Administrator Group, Inc on June 29-July 1, 2026 at Grand Palace Hotel, Butuan City - This year’s forum aims to deepen participants’ understanding of procurement planning, resource management, and innovative strategies that support effective public service delivery and good governance.

Three (3) IASO personnel attended the three-day seminar entitled “Seminar on Executive Forum on RA 12009 and Pertinent Audit Findings and Remedies,” facilitated by ALLSS Management Consultants, Inc. and conducted on June 16–18, 2026, at Holiday Plaza Hotel, Cebu City.

The seminar aimed to enhance the knowledge and understanding of government personnel on Republic Act No. 12009 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), increase awareness of common procurement-related audit findings, and provide practical remedies and best practices to ensure regulatory compliance, strengthen accountability, and improve the efficiency, transparency, and integrity of public procurement processes in government agencies.

In line with the Nutrition Month Celebration, the Internal Audit Service Office reaffirms its commitment to the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2025–2028, emphasizing food and nutrition security as a fundamental human right.

Guided by the theme, “Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat,” and the sub-theme, “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan Ating Pangalagaan,” this year’s campaign highlights the strong connection between proper nutrition, health, and environmental sustainability.

Together, let us strengthen our commitment to protect both nutrition and the environment, recognizing that a healthy nation begins with well-nourished people and a well-preserved natural environment.
