FREE CASTRATION AND RABIES VACCINATION
📍LGU Cortes, Surigao del Sur
🗓️May 6, 7, 12-14 and 21, 2026

A total of 322 pet owners from the recently conducted Free Castration and Rabies Vaccination held on the month of May, 2026 to Six (6) Barangays of LGU Cortes Surigao Del Sur as part of their Retooled Community Support Program through Serbisyong Caravan.

The Provincial Veterinary Office of Surigao del Sur provided free castration, rabies vaccination, consultation and deworming to all pet owners of Cortes with a total of 41 heads of Dogs and 10 heads of cats was castrated and 151 heads of pets vaccinated. This activity was conducted as part of the continuing campaign against rabies and humane population management of our pets.

FREE CASTRATION AND RABIES VACCINATION

📍LGU Carrascal, Surigao del Sur
🗓️April 29-30, 2026

The FREE Castration and Rabies Vaccination was successfully conducted at the Municipality of Carrascal Surigao del Sur as part of the continuous Rabies Awareness Campaign. Pet owners actively participated and brought their pets to be castrated and vaccinated against rabies, as a step toward a safer and rabies-free community.

Below are the numbers of pets and clients served for two (2) barangays in the said municipality, Barangay Poblacion and Gamuton respectively;

Number of Cats Neutered: 5 heads
Number of Dogs Neutered: 12 heads
Number of Clients served: 14

Number of Cats Vaccinated: 10 heads
Number of Dogs Vaccinated: 86 heads
Number of Clients served: 60

FREE CASTRATION AND RABIES VACCINATION CAMPAIGN
📍 Lanuza Surigao del Sur
🗓️ April 21-23, 2026

The Free Castration and Rabies Vaccination Activity was successfully conducted in the Municipality of Lanuza Surigao del Sur as part of our continuing Rabies Awareness Campaign. On April 21, the Office of the Provincial Veterinary of Surigao del Sur lead by Dr. Margarito G. La Torre Jr focused on spay and neuter activity and on the succeeding two days April 22-23 the team together with the Municipal Agriculture Staff of LGU Lanuza SDS conducted a house to house rabies vaccination to Nine (9) Barangays of the said municipality.

Below are the list of our collaborative accomplishments for Three Days activity:

No. of Dog vaccinated: 336 heads
No. of Cat vaccinated: 44 heads
No. of Clients served: 231

FREE RABIES VACCINATION
📅 April 14-16, 2026
📍 Municipality of Marihatag Surigao del Sur

The FREE Mass Rabies Vaccination was successfully conducted to Nine (9) Barangays of the Municipality of Marihatag Surigao del Sur as part of the continuous campaign on a Rabies Free Province of Surigao del Sur. Pet owners came together and brought in their pets to be vaccinated against rabies, as a step towards a safer, rabies-free community.

Provincial Veterinary Office staff lead by Diosdado D. Derigay Jr., DVM together with Municipal Agriculture Office personnel vaccinated a total of 620 heads cats and dogs and served 379 pet owners who were glad and thankful for the yearly rabies vaccination of their pets.

Our deepest gratitude to the staff of LGU Marihatag Municipal Agriculture Office for the kind assistance of their personnel and making this activity a success.

Thank you also to everyone who came and joined our campaign for the safety of our pets and families. Together we work towards a rabies-free community!

Rabies Awareness Campaign and Free Castration and Vaccination

📍 San Agustin Surigao del Sur

The Two (2) Days Free Castration and Vaccination was successfully conducted in LGU San Agustin Surigao del Sur led by PVET SDS in partnership with the local government unit of San Agustin Surigao del Sur.

A total of 5 cats and 34 dogs were castrated and 128 heads of pets were given rabies vaccine.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all those who supported and participated in the event.

We also thank everyone who attended and took part in the program in support of our goal of achieving a rabies-free community. 🐾✨

🐾 Rabies Awareness Month 2026 🐾

In support of the nationwide campaign against Rabies, a total of 380 students from Panikian National High School, Carrascal National High School, and Adlay National High School actively participated in an engaging and informative Rabies Awareness activity.

This meaningful initiative was spearheaded by the LGU Carrascal, Surigao del Sur, through the Municipal Agriculture Office, in strong partnership with the Provincial Veterinary Office of Surigao del Sur. The collaboration highlights the shared commitment of local government units in safeguarding public health and promoting animal welfare.

Students were equipped with vital knowledge on:
✔️ Responsible pet ownership
✔️ Proper handling and care of dogs and cats
✔️ Prevention and management of animal bites
✔️ The importance of timely vaccination against rabies

The activity not only raised awareness but also empowered the youth to become advocates of a rabies-free community, emphasizing that prevention starts with informed and responsible individuals.

Together, through education, cooperation, and community action, we continue to move towards a safer and healthier environment for both humans and animals.

SUCCESSFUL MASS SPAY AND CASTRATION

📍 Barangay Magosilom, Cantilan Surigao del Sur

The one day of the Free Spay and Neuter, and Rabies Vaccination led by the Provincial Veterinary Office of Surigao Del Sur in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Cantilan Surigao del Sur has been successfully conducted.

Over the day a total of 68 dogs and cats were successfully spayed and neutered, while 192 animals received free anti-rabies vaccinations—marking a significant step toward a safer and more responsible community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all pet owners who participated and supported this initiative.
