Tanjay City โ His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President, Republic of the Philippines and Commander-in-Chief Armed Forces of the Philippines, visited Camp Leon Kilat, Brgy. Sta. Cruz Viejo, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental, on 17 August 2026, where he met with the troops of the 302nd Infantry (Achiever) Brigade, line Battalions, and other OPCON units. The President was received by MGEN JOEY A ESCANILLAS PA, Commander, 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division, and BGEN JASON V JUMAWAN PA, Commander, 302nd Infantry (Achiever) Brigade.
During his engagement with the troops, President Marcos recognized the significant contributions of the 302nd Infantry Brigade in preserving peace and security, responding to emerging challenges, strengthening cooperation with local government units, and other security partners. He also acknowledged the Brigadeโs sustained efforts in internal security operations, civil-military operations, and humanitarian assistance and disaster response, particularly in supporting communities during times of crisis and adversity.
President Marcos further urged the soldiers to continuously enhance their operational capabilities, strengthen engagement with local communities, and sustain close coordination with government partners. He reaffirmed the national governmentโs commitment to supporting the Armed Forces of the Philippines in fulfilling its constitutional mandate and ensuring a secure, peaceful, and resilient environment for the people of Negros Island and the Filipino nation.
