Tanjay City — His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President, Republic of the Philippines and Commander-in-Chief Armed Forces of the Philippines, visited Camp Leon Kilat, Brgy. Sta. Cruz Viejo, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental, on 17 August 2026, where he met with the troops of the 302nd Infantry (Achiever) Brigade, line Battalions, and other OPCON units. The President was received by MGEN JOEY A ESCANILLAS PA, Commander, 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division, and BGEN JASON V JUMAWAN PA, Commander, 302nd Infantry (Achiever) Brigade.

During his engagement with the troops, President Marcos recognized the significant contributions of the 302nd Infantry Brigade in preserving peace and security, responding to emerging challenges, strengthening cooperation with local government units, and other security partners. He also acknowledged the Brigade’s sustained efforts in internal security operations, civil-military operations, and humanitarian assistance and disaster response, particularly in supporting communities during times of crisis and adversity.

President Marcos further urged the soldiers to continuously enhance their operational capabilities, strengthen engagement with local communities, and sustain close coordination with government partners. He reaffirmed the national government’s commitment to supporting the Armed Forces of the Philippines in fulfilling its constitutional mandate and ensuring a secure, peaceful, and resilient environment for the people of Negros Island and the Filipino nation.

Tanjay City, Negros Oriental — The 302nd Infantry (Achiever) Brigade, Philippine Army, joined the nationwide observance of the 77th International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Month through a Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony on 03 August 2026. With the theme “Pinalakas na Ugnayan at Pagkakaisa sa Pagsulong ng IHL,” the activity underscored the shared responsibility of government institutions, security forces, and other stakeholders in promoting respect for human dignity, protecting civilians, and upholding the rule of law, particularly during armed conflict.

The ceremony also featured the pinning of patch to newly assigned Enlisted Personnel, symbolizing integration into the Brigade and identification with the Achiever Pride. This was followed by the Mass Recitation of the AFP Soldiers’ Pledge of reaffirmation of commitment and support for the IHL.

During the activity, BGEN JASON V JUMAWAN PA, Commander, 302nd Infantry (Achiever) Brigade, delivered the message of LTGEN DONALD M GUMIRAN PA, Commanding General, Philippine Army, emphasizing the Philippine Army’s unwavering commitment to International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights, and the Rule of Law. The message highlighted that these principles are embedded in Army doctrine, training, leadership, planning, and operations, guiding every Soldier in fulfilling the constitutional mandate while protecting civilians and respecting the rights and dignity of all persons affected by armed conflict.

The commemoration served as a reminder that the pursuit of peace and security must always be anchored on the preservation of human dignity, respect for human rights, and adherence to the rule of law. The Brigade remains committed to strengthening partnerships and unity of effort with government agencies, humanitarian organizations, and communities in advancing IHL and fostering a culture of respect, accountability, compassion, and responsible service.
