𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗮𝗹: 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲

Department of Agriculture 12 (DA 12) Regional Executive Director John Pascual, DVM has issued a stern warning against the illegal online trade of subsidized agricultural interventions, emphasizing that government-issued farm inputs are provided strictly to support field production and are not for sale.

The statement follows reports that free farm inputs distributed to local farmer-beneficiaries were listed for sale on social media platforms in Datu Piang.

In response, Director Pascual dispatched Regional Technical Director for Operations Ray Embajador to direct joint market surveillance and inspect potential trading hubs in Datu Piang and neighboring town Midsayap.

DA 12 has established direct operational coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) in Datu Piang and the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Midsayap to trace the origin of the listed items and identify the specific recipient-beneficiaries involved.

Noraisa Gandalon, farm worker at MAFAR-Datu Piang, confirmed that local personnel are actively tracking the beneficiaries assigned to the distributed inputs within their municipality.

Rosario Ibesate, RAgr., MSCP, OIC Municipal Agriculturist of Midsayap, similarly affirmed that local authorities are conducting strict market surveillance to trace distributed supplies in their jurisdiction.

Director Pascual emphasized that public agricultural interventions are provided free of charge to lower production costs and boost crop yield for smallholder farmers.

He warned that buying or selling government-funded inputs directly undermines the integrity of public agricultural support programs.

DA 12 reiterated that beneficiaries caught violating program terms face immediate disqualification from all future government assistance programs, alongside appropriate legal sanctions.

The agency also urged the public to refrain from purchasing subsidized supplies traded online and to report illegal listings to local agriculture offices. # # #
