August 6, 2026 | Personnel from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI paid a courtesy visit to Vice Mayor Roberto O. Palomar regarding the upcoming public consultation for the ongoing infrastructure project in Barangay Candelaria, Tapaz, Capiz.

The meeting focused on coordinating preparations for the consultation, which aims to discuss the project's scope, implementation, right-of-way concerns, and other matters affecting stakeholders. Joining the courtesy visit was Municipal Engineer Victorio Jimenez.

The Municipality of Tapaz remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote transparency, collaboration, and community participation in infrastructure development.

On August 5, 2026, Capt. Dutch Herald Magon of the 12th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army, and Capt. Franz Michael Palomar of the Philippine Air Force paid a courtesy call on Vice Mayor Roberto O. Palomar at the Municipal Hall.

During the meeting, Capt. Magon expressed his gratitude to the Municipality of Tapaz for its continued support of the programs and activities of the Philippine Army, emphasizing the importance of the strong partnership between the local government and the military in promoting peace, security, and community development.

Meanwhile, Capt. Palomar discussed the upcoming Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Entrance Examination 2026 โ€“ Visayas Cluster, which will be conducted on August 8โ€“9, 2026, at Fort San Pedro National High School in Iloilo City. He encouraged qualified aspiring cadets to take advantage of the opportunity to pursue a career in public service through the PMA.

Today, August 6, 2026, the Municipality of Tapaz formally held the blessing of its newly acquired Patient Transport Vehicle, marking another significant step in strengthening the local government's healthcare and emergency response services.

The blessing ceremony was officiated by Rev. Msgr. Job Bolivar and attended by Executive Assistant V Loreto Gadong, who represented Mayor Rex Dante L. Palomar and the Local Government Unit of Tapaz.

The acquisition of the Patient Transport Vehicle reflects the Municipality of Tapaz's continued commitment to providing accessible, safe, and efficient transportation services for patients in need, ensuring improved healthcare delivery and better public service for the Tapaznon community.

Today, August 6, 2026, Hon. Lorel Faith G. Torada officially took her oath as the Acting Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson of Barangay Taft.

The oath-taking ceremony was done in the Office of Mayor Rex Dante L. Palomar and was witnessed by Aldrin Falco, CPA, Administrative Officer V, together with Barangay Taft officials.

Today, August 6, 2026, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) headed by Ms. Josie G. Cambel, together with Ms. Esmeralda G. Dayalo, Head of the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), Mrs Sandra Domopoy, Mr. Jason B. Arcenas Social Welfare Assistant I 2nd District of Capiz and Mr. Romualdo Garbo, President of the Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of the Philippines (FSCAP) โ€“ Tapaz Chapter, successfully conducted the 3rd Quarterly Meeting of OSCA and FSCAP.

With the help of Municipal Mayor the event gained greater significance. A more welcoming and compassionate community is inspired by Rex Dante L. Palomar and SB Milagros R. Palomar unwavering dedication to the wellbeing of our older citizens.

Active senior citizen leaders and officials from a variety of organizations gathered for the event, which demonstrated their steadfast commitment, friendship, and enthusiasm for community service. The officials and employees of the Municipality of Tapaz gathered today, August 7, 2026, for the monthly First Thursday Mass held at the Tapaz Government Center, with Municipal Mayor Hon. Rex Dante L. Palomar in attendance. This month's Eucharistic Celebration was sponsored by the Municipal Engineering Office (MEO) and the Municipal Tourism Office (MTO).

In his homily, the celebrant reminded everyone of one of God's most beautiful blessingsโ€”the gift of memory. More than simply recalling facts, memory allows us to cherish the people we love, preserve meaningful moments, and recognize God's presence throughout our lives. It is through remembering that love continues to grow, faith is strengthened, and our connections with one another are nurtured.

The faithful were also encouraged to reflect on three meaningful reminders:
โœจ Never judge your life only by your present struggles.
โœจ Listen to Jesus more than the noise around you.
โœจ Prayer does not remove us from life's challengesโ€”it prepares us to face them with faith and courage.

The Patrol Base Commanders assigned in the Municipality of Tapaz paid a courtesy call to Acting Mayor Roberto O. Palomar yesterday, August 4, 2026.

The courtesy call served as an opportunity to strengthen coordination and reinforce the partnership between the Local Government Unit of Tapaz and the patrol base commanders in maintaining peace, order, and public safety throughout the municipality.

Also present during the meeting were Mun. Budget Officer Jovy Gialen, Mun. Security Adviser Benjie Gicole and Engr. Jay Galagate, whose presence underscored the LGU's collaborative approach in supporting peace and security initiatives.

Acting Mayor Palomar expressed his appreciation for the commanders' dedication and reaffirmed the LGU's continued support for collaborative efforts that promote the safety and well-being of the people of Tapaz.

The Local Government Unit of Tapaz, under the leadership and full support of Mayor Rex Dante L. Palomar, continues to bring hope, care, and essential services to bedridden senior citizens through the continued implementation of Project SMILE 2026.

Through the dedicated efforts of SB Member Milagros "Chay" Palomar, in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), and the Municipal Health Office (MHO), beneficiaries received grocery packs, cash assistance, medicines, vitamins, medical check-ups, and health assessments right at their homes.

As the program continues, LGU Tapaz remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that every bedridden senior citizen receives compassionate, accessible, and people-centered careโ€”bringing comfort, dignity, and hope to those who need it most.
