REPOST | Tarlac Agricultural University - The Golden Harvest

๐—ฆ๐—ก๐—”๐—ฃ๐—ฆ๐—›๐—ข๐—ง๐—ฆ | The College of Business and Management (CBM) organizes a Gender and Development (GAD) Seminar under the theme "Breaking Stigmas," held at the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) Farmers Training Center (FTC) on March 7.

The TAU - GAD Director Dr. Ma Theresa Nardo, opens the seminar by briefly discussing the importance of mental health before introducing the resource speaker, Dr. Niรฑa Garcia Valentin.

Dr. Valentin, a well-known professional from Tarlac State University (TSU) and the seminar's resource speaker, shares her valuable insights and knowledge about mental health awareness during the seminar.

In addition, Dr. Valentin gave the participants the chance to ask questions regarding mental health.

February 14, 2025 โ€“ The Sampaguita Conference Hall at the Tarlac City Schools Division in Brgy. Binauganan became a hub of digital empowerment as the Division Federation of Supreme Student Leaders and Government (DFFSSLG) officers and advisers participated in a training-workshop on the basic use of Microsoft Word and Excel. This initiative aimed to strengthen their digital competencies, essential for effective leadership and organizational management.

The training-workshop, held under the theme โ€œDigital Leadership in Actionโ€, featured esteemed resource speaker Ms. Ma. Teresa D. Madriaga from Tarlac State University. With her extensive expertise in digital tools and education, Ms. Madriaga guided participants through the fundamental features and practical applications of Microsoft Word and Excel, ensuring they could harness these tools for efficient documentation, report generation, and data management.

The event was designed to equip DFFSSLG officers and advisers with essential digital skills, reinforcing their roles as proactive leaders in their respective schools. The interactive workshop included hands-on exercises, real-world scenarios, and step-by-step tutorials that allowed participants to enhance their proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet management.

This event aimed to provide young student-athletes with essential knowledge and direction in shaping their academic and professional futures, balancing sports and education to achieve holistic success.

Recognizing the unique challenges faced by student-athletes, NAS organized the seminar to address their career pathways, both in and beyond the world of sports. The event gathered distinguished speakers, including sports professionals, career coaches, and education experts, who shared valuable insights on career options, academic planning, and personal development.

Ms. Jazmin Joy E. Dizon, an esteemed career guidance counselor, emphasized the importance of setting long-term goals and maintaining discipline in both academics and athletics. โ€œSuccess is not just about winning medals; itโ€™s about preparing for a future where you can continue to excel beyond your playing years,โ€ she highlighted.

The officers of the youth organization at Matatalaib High School successfully participated in a transformative seminar on Leadership Essentials last February 13, 2025, conducted by Mr. Adrian A. Dizon from Tarlac State University. The event aimed to equip young leaders with essential skills and strategies to enhance their leadership capabilities and serve their peers effectively.

Held at Matatalaib High School, the seminar gathered student leaders from various organizations within the school. Mr. Dizon, an esteemed educator, delivered an engaging and insightful session that focused on key leadership principles, decision-making skills, teamwork, and effective communication.

During the interactive seminar, Mr. Dizon emphasized the significance of responsibility, integrity, and vision in leadership. A group of aspiring student journalists from Ramos National High School successfully completed an intensive training and coaching session on campus journalism held at Tarlac State University last February 12, 2025. The one-day event, designed to enhance students' journalistic skills, brought together experienced media professionals and educators to mentor and inspire young writers.

The training covered essential topics such as news writing, feature writing, editorial writing, photojournalism, column writing, sports writing and broadcasting. Through a series of interactive lectures and hands-on workshops, the students gained valuable insights into the fundamentals of responsible and effective journalism.

Throughout the training, students actively engaged in hands-on workshops, interactive discussions, and practical exercises facilitated by the Communication Department. The activity was spearheaded by Prof. Maria Fermina C. Nucum, Department Chair, together with the Expert Service Providers: Mr. Derich D. Bognot, Mr. Marco Polo M. Flores, Mr. Mark Alyson A. The event, conducted at the school's auditorium, featured Ms. Mary Joy R. Facun, a distinguished career coach and professor from Tarlac State University, as the keynote speaker.

In her engaging talk, Ms. Facun shared her expertise on career planning, skills development, and the importance of aligning personal interests with professional goals. She emphasized the need for students to be adaptable in an ever-evolving job market. โ€œYour career journey starts with self-awareness. Understanding your strengths and passions will guide you toward the right path,โ€ she advised.

The Department of Education-Tarlac City Schools Division successfully conducted the District Schools Press Conference (DSPC) on January 28, 2025, at Montessori School, gathering young campus journalists from various public and private schools. The DepEd-TCSD invited Mr. Michael John R. Hipolito as one of the judges for the said event.

The conference featured multiple competitions, including news writing, feature writing, editorial writing, sports writing, photojournalism, and broadcasting. Students showcased their talents and honed their skills under the guidance of seasoned journalists, media practitioners, and DepEd officials who served as trainers and judges.

At the end of the conference, outstanding campus journalists and school publications were awarded for their exemplary performance. The top winners will advance to the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC), bringing pride to their respective schools and the entire division.

An Intensive Training and Coaching on Campus Journalism was successfully conducted for the students of Balibago Primero Integrated School on January 16 and 17, 2025 at Theater Room CASS, Tarlac State University.

Organized by esteemed faculty, the two-day workshop aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and techniques in various fields of campus journalism, including feature writing, desktop publishing, sports writing, photojournalism, science and technology writing, copyreading and headline writing, radio broadcasting and editorial cartooning. The event was part of the school's commitment to fostering a culture of responsible journalism and media literacy among young learners.

Throughout the training, students actively engaged in hands-on workshops, interactive discussions, and practical exercises facilitated by the Communication Department. In todayโ€™s fast-paced and ever-changing world, preparing students for the future requires more than just academic knowledge. With the right guidance, students can explore their strengths, passions, and career opportunities. This was the driving force behind the "Pathway to Success: Training-Workshop on Career Guidance and Employment Coaching" organized for the senior high school students of Burot Integrated School and Corazon C. Aquino High School. Held on November 13, 2024 and December 4, 2024, this extension activity successfully provided essential tools for students to navigate their career options, build a clear career plan, and gain a deeper understanding of the professional world.

The workshop aimed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to make informed career decisions. With a focus on self-awareness, practical career skills, and future employment opportunities, the event turned out to be a vital steppingstone for students to explore their potential and unlock their success.

The training-workshop kicked off with an insightful presentation by Ms. Mary Joy R. Facun and Ms. Jazmin joy E. Dizon, who walked the students through the various career options available in todayโ€™s job market. The event, which was held at the LGUโ€™s conference hall, was attended by a diverse group of participants, including educators, students, government employees, and local leaders. This initiative marked a significant step in fostering a more informed and proactive community in addressing these pressing concerns.

The spirit of creativity and collaboration soared high at Our Lady of Peace College Seminary with the success of its innovative audiovisual presentation (AVP), which premiered during the Diocesan Vocation Day. The AVP is a masterpiece that blends technology, storytelling, and spirituality, capturing the essence of the Seminary's mission and vision.

The journey to creating this AVP began with a shared vision: to encapsulate the Seminaryโ€™s rich heritage and its role in shaping the lives of seminarians. The project aimed to communicate its core message to a broader audience, inspiring vocations and deepening support for its mission.

The activity was spearheaded by Prof. Maria Fermina Joyce C. Nucum, Communication Department Chair, along with the Expert Service Providers: Prof. Winifredo L. Luis, Prof. Augusto N. Lulu Jr., Prof. Nerissa S. Olarte, Mr. Derich D. Bognot, Ms. Angel C. Saludez, Mr. Darren Dee I. Alimurong, Mr. Marco Polo Flores, Mr. Mark Alyson A. Madriaga, and Mr. Jovito Z. The Department of Communication of Tarlac State University (TSU) formalized a partnership with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Tarlac through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing held on February 21, 2024, at the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) Deanโ€™s Office. The collaboration focuses on extension services aimed at strengthening agrarian reform advocacy through multimedia documentation and other community engagement projects.

As part of this collaboration, the Department of Communication has been tapped for its first project to produce a short film highlighting the success stories of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and their organizations. This initiative is part of DARโ€™s "Pelikula Agraryo: Short Film Festival," which aims to showcase the transformative impact of agrarian reform on rural communities.

Present during the MOA signing were CASS Dean Dr. Aloysius T. Madriaga, Communication Department Head Asst. Prof. Maria Fermina Joyce C. Nucum, and faculty member Mr. Derich D. Bognot. Representing DAR Tarlac were Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer I (PARPO I) Maria Teresa Mina, OIC-Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer (OIC-CARPO) Jailynn Dimantala, and Provincial Information Officer (PIO) Mr. Gerald Arriesgado Fontanoza.
