In a significant recognition of its community engagement efforts, the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) was awarded as one of the Outstanding Stakeholder of Don Casimiro G. Tanedo Integrated School on May 21, 2024. The award ceremony took place during the school's 2nd Annual Celebration of Stakeholders’ Day and Education Summit, highlighting the fruitful collaboration between the two institutions.

Associate Prof. Christine Janelle Santiago, Head of the CBA College Extension Department, and Associate Dean Dr. Henry Rufino accepted the plaque of appreciation on behalf of the college. Dr. Rufino emphasized that the recognition reflects the collective efforts of all departments within the college, which have been actively involved in a two-year partnership under the college's extension services program with the integrated school.

One of the cornerstone initiatives of this partnership is “PROJECT DCGTIS: Delivering Comprehensive Guidance through Transfer of Intelligence and Support.” This initiative involves a series of training and workshop activities designed to equip students and faculty at Don Casimiro G. Tanedo Integrated School with essential skills and knowledge on Entrepreneurship and business development. The program aims to foster a supportive educational environment and enhance the overall academic experience.

Dr. Elena Bartolo, the principal of Don Casimiro G. Tanedo Integrated School, has been instrumental in expanding the curriculum through this collaboration. Recognizing the importance of practical business skills, Dr. Bartolo initiated the inclusion of an enhanced "Entrepreneurship" subject, developed in alliance with the CBA. This subject aims to provide students with a robust understanding of business principles, preparing them for future entrepreneurial endeavors.

One of the highlights of the project was the active involvement of the CBA faculty experts in assisting Grade 12 students at Don Casimiro G. Tanedo Integrated School in producing a variety of feasible products such as Caricachips, Palitaw with fillings, Banana Spread, Munggo Polvoron, Alugbati Chips, and Mango and Ube Rolls. Throughout the project, the CBA faculty guided the students as they participated in a Fairtrade event and a final oral defense.. With the unwavering support of Dr. Elena Bartolo, the school principal, a partnership with the local government unit (LGU) was established to fund a competition for the two most creative and appetizing products. The winners will be awarded ten thousand pesos (₱10,000) as start-up capital. This initiative aims to equip students with practical business knowledge and skills, enabling them to start their own businesses, particularly benefiting those who may not pursue higher education.

The partnership between the CBA and Don Casimiro G. Tanedo Integrated School exemplifies the impact of collaborative efforts in education. By pooling resources and expertise, the two institutions have created a model of how academic partnerships can drive meaningful change and provide substantial benefits to the community.

As the partnership progresses, both the CBA and Don Casimiro G. Tanedo Integrated School look forward to continuing their work together, striving to develop innovative programs and initiatives that support student success and community development. The recognition as an Outstanding Stakeholder is a testament to the CBA's commitment to extending its educational mission beyond the campus and into the broader community.

In an initiative spearheaded by Tarlac State University and supported by the Local Government Unit of Pura (LGU-Pura), the Gender Sensitivity Orientation (GSO) seminar-workshop revolutionized understanding and inclusivity around gender-related issues. Held on May 20, 2024, at the Pura Event Centre in Pura, Tarlac City, this dynamic event featured esteemed resource speakers: Ms. Christine Janelle M. Santiago, Unit Head of Capacity Building and Extension Services Unit, Coordinator at the Gender and Development Office, and College Extension Department Head from the College of Business and Accountancy, elucidated GSO and VAWC; Ms. Jovy P. Tomas, Faculty of the College of Education and Unit Head of the Child Care Center Unit, explored SOGIESC and VAWC; and Dr. Ramil M. Las-Igan, College Research Chairperson, covered the Safe Spaces Act.

Participants embarked on an enlightening journey, recognizing the importance of gender sensitivity and the pressing need to combat VAWC. Engaging discussions dismantled myths surrounding SOGIESC, fostering a deeper respect for all gender identities and sexual orientations. The seminar also delivered a comprehensive look at the Safe Spaces Act, empowering attendees with the knowledge to create safer, more inclusive environments. Through interactive workshops, role-playing scenarios, and collaborative activities, participants acquired practical skills and actionable strategies to support victims of violence and champion inclusivity in their communities. This seminar-workshop was a pivotal experience, equipping individuals with the tools to drive meaningful changes in their personal and professional lives, ultimately enhancing the livelihoods of Pura. The event was a collaborative effort among the College of Business and Accountancy, the College of Education, the College of Criminal Justice Education, and the Gender and Development Office.

The 𝑬𝑲𝑶𝑵𝑶𝑴𝑰𝑺𝑻𝑨 students, together with the 𝑻𝑺𝑼 𝑪𝑩𝑨 𝑬𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝑫𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕, conducted an outreach program with the theme "𝑬𝒄𝒐-𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒖𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝒌𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒂𝒏" at 𝑼𝒏𝒈𝒐𝒕 𝑬𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 last Saturday, May 18, 2024. As we entered their premises, we felt the warm welcome of 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒚 𝑪𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒆 𝑯. 𝑫𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒐, 𝑩𝒓𝒈𝒚. 𝑲𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒆 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒓 𝒐𝒏 𝑬𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑮𝒆𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒆 𝑪𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒃𝒚𝒂𝒃, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝑲 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑫𝒖𝒂𝒏𝒆 𝑬𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒆𝒍 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒛. With their assistance, we made our vision possible. The event featured activities, lively games with many prizes, and a dance performance by Eco 2A, in which the children also participated. We provided advice to the children on saving money while giving them piggy banks so that they can start learning about financial management at a young age and prepare for their future needs.

Additionally, Eco 2A donated clothes and school supplies for them to use, even as the school year comes to an end. The, EKONOMISTA, express their gratitude to our Financial Department faculty and Economics students who dedicated themselves to the success of the event. We witnessed the transformative power of kindness firsthand, as each smile on the children's faces told a story of hope and change.

Together, we are not just giving back but also building bonds that help create a brighter future for all. Let's continue to make a difference, one heartfelt smile at a time.

Last March 23, 2024, at the TPH Compound in San Vicente, Tarlac City, the DSWD . The 𝗗𝗦𝗪𝗗 – 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗰 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 (𝗧𝗛𝗙𝗪)
initiate a collaborative effort with 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 – 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.
As they conducted 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗩𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴. Under the guidance of facilitators Dr. Criselda A. Tonelada, Mr. John Edward S. Estayo, Mr. Von Rex M. Reyes, and Ms. Mary Diane M. Tejano, with the trainers Ms. Emmery P. Balbas for bread making, and Mr. Danilo C. Gacusan for noodles making, participants explored the details of making a variety of healthy foods. From pandesal, donuts, carrot muffins, banana bread, and pilipit in Veggie Bread Making, to fried noodles and wet noodles for lomi in Veggie Noodles Making, the training aimed to equip both residents and facilitators with valuable culinary skills, aligning with THFW's mission of empowerment and self-sufficiency.

The collaborative effort between THFW and the College of Business and Accountancy – Hospitality Management Department reflects a shared dedication to empowering women through education and skill-building initiatives. By offering hands-on demonstrations and interactive sessions, the training aimed to impart comprehensive knowledge to THFW participants, enabling them to create nutritious and delicious products using locally sourced vegetables.

This partnership exemplifies our collective commitment to empowering women and promoting their rights," remarked a representative from THFW. "Through this training, we aim to not only enhance the quality of our products but also expand our offerings to better meet the needs of our customers.

The training initiative aligns closely with THFW's mission of empowering women by providing them with valuable skills and knowledge that contribute to their personal and professional growth. By mastering the art of Veggie Bread Making and Veggie Noodles Making, participants are not only enhancing their culinary expertise but also gaining the tools necessary to pursue economic opportunities and achieve self-sufficiency.

As the training session concluded, participants left with a newfound sense of confidence and competence, armed with the skills and knowledge to enhance their products and further their objectives. Through initiatives like these, THFW continues to uphold its mission of supporting and empowering women, creating pathways to a brighter and more prosperous future for all.

In a strategic endeavor to enhance business expertise and foster sustainable growth, the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 organized a two-day comprehensive Business Aspects Consultancy on January 25 and 26, 2024. Partnering with the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 (𝗗𝗧𝗜), the event aimed to equip local cooperatives with vital skills and insights into effective business management.

Led by a team of experts, the sessions delved into critical aspects of business operations tailored to the unique needs of participating organizations.

On January 25, 2024, the day kicked off with a specialized session titled "𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐭 𝐅𝐅𝐒 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞" in Caut, Lapaz, Tarlac, specifically designed for members of DTI-assisted Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) from Tarlac Province. Dr. Wilmark J. Ramos and Ms. Reissa Joselle D. Gopez offered invaluable insights into leadership dynamics, decision-making strategies, and innovative solutions, equipping participants with the necessary tools to enhance their business operations. Concurrently, in Lapaz, Tarlac, Dr. Elizabeth A. Amurao and Prof. Maria Teresa C. Agustin led the session "Consultancy on Business Aspects of Comillas FFS Agriculture Cooperative," aiming to strengthen the cooperative's efficiency and sustainability through expert guidance on strategic planning and operational best practices. Lastly, on the same day, Dr. Limuel P. Pavico, Ms. Arlene R. Gabriel, and Ms. Sheila Jane L. Gonzales took charge of the "Consultancy on Business Aspects of Cabayaoasan Farmers Agriculture Cooperative," delivering tailored technical consultancy to meet the unique needs of DTI-assisted ARBOs. Participants gained practical insights covering business planning, financial management, marketing strategies, and innovation, empowering them to navigate challenges and seize opportunities in their respective markets.

On January 26, 2024, a distinguished panel of experts, including Mr. Ferdinand Y. Silaran, Ms. Mary Diane Tejano, Mr. Jefferson D. Ruz, Mr. John Edwards S. Estayo, Dr. Criselda Tonelada, Ms. Emmery Balbas, Mr. Von Rex Reyes, Dr. Henry D. Rufino, and Dr. Derick S. Figueroa, continued their significant role in advancing the agricultural sector. They extended their expertise to the second day of business consultancy, providing tailored guidance and strategic insights to three additional DTI-assisted Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs). These organizations, namely the Pindangan 2nd Primary Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Bacabac Farmers Producers Cooperative, and Sembrano Climate Resilient Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, received specialized support to navigate the intricate market landscape with a focus on sustainability and resilience. These sessions aimed to empower the ARBOs with the necessary tools and strategies to excel in their respective fields, thereby contributing to the overall progress of the agricultural community.

“The College of Business and Accountancy Sets New Milestone, Paving the Way for Future Success!” as they conducted Memorandum of Agreement signing with not just one, but six Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations held at TSU Lucinda Campus last Tuesday, 13th of February 2024.

The program starts with the welcoming remarks from the Honorable Dr. Agnes M. Macaraeg, representative of our University’s President, Dr. Arnold E. Velasco for all the participants especially to all six honorable and venerable institutions which are the Caut Farmers Field School Marketing Cooperative represented by their chairman Mr. Rocky Gutierrez, Cabayaoasan Farmers Agriculture Cooperative represented by their chairman as well Sir. Rolando Canposano, Sembrano Climate Resilient Farmers Agriculture Cooperative represented by their chairman too Sir. Leopoldo M. Magday , Pindangan 2nd Primary Multi-Purpose Cooperative with their manager Ms. Sally Duquesa, and lastly the Bacabac Farmers Producers Cooperative represented by their Chairperson Sir. Renante S. Inay, followed by reading of the important notes of the MOA by the Assoc. Dean of the said college, Dr. Henry D. Rufino. The event’s program flows smoothly and continued from the discussion and clarification up to the most awaited moment which is the MOA Signing Ceremony, after signing, College dean of Business and Accountancy Dr. Jhonel C. Panlilio proceeded in expressing her message of commitment together with the representative of each institution and pledge to do their best to provide unwavering support and to strengthen each bond. To officially conclude the program, Dr. Wilmark J. Ramos, warmly representing Dr. Murphy P. Mohammed, the esteemed Vice President for Research and Extension Services, steps forward to offer his heartfelt gratitude and profound appreciation. Dr. Ramos extends his sincerest thanks to each and every individual who has played a role in making this event a resounding success. From the diligent organizers to the dedicated participants, from the supportive staff to the esteemed guests, Dr. Ramos expresses gratitude for the collective effort, unwavering commitment, and invaluable contributions that have made the event possible.

It was unprecedented event that leaves a remarkable experience for both College and the institutions. As they continue to build bridges for a brighter tomorrow, the CBA looks forward to organizing more opportunities in the future and maintaining strong relationships with current and future partners.

The College of Business and Accountancy expanded their horizon in terms of community and societal service as they conducted Memorandum of Agreement signing with Don Casimiro G. Tañedo Integrated School last January 24, 2024 at the said school.

Dr. Elena Bartolo, the principal of Don Casimiro G. Tañedo Integrated School welcomed the College of Business and Accountancy with gratitude as the event sparked partnership between the two institutions. On the other hand, Dr. Henry Rufino, the project leader and Ms. Christine Janelle Santiago, Head of CBA Extension Office gave their warm message with the pledge to do their best to provide unwavering support to the institution.

This activity is in line with the goal of the college to create societal impact. Moreover, the CBA Extension Office is looking forward for the upcoming activities they will conduct namely, SPTA for Livelihood Projects or in Income Generating Projects, Skills Training, and Gender and Development.
