FOUR MORE UNIVERSITIES CAN NOW OFFER MEDICINE! 🩺
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has approved four more higher education institutions (HEIs) to offer the Doctor of Medicine program, expanding opportunities for aspiring doctors in the Philippines.
📍 Tarlac State University (TSU) - Granted a government permit to operate the first and second year levels of its Doctor of Medicine program.
📍 North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) - Also granted a government permit for the first and second year levels of its Doctor of Medicine program.
📍 Cavite State University (CvSU) - Received a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for its Doctor of Medicine program.
📍 Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun) - Also received a Certificate of Program Compliance for its Doctor of Medicine program.
The approvals support President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to expand medical education and help increase the number of doctors and healthcare professionals across the country.
CHED Chairperson Shirley Agrupis emphasized that expanding access to medical education must go hand in hand with quality education and proper training.
The four institutions underwent evaluation and compliance validation based on CHED’s minimum requirements for Doctor of Medicine programs under CHED Memorandum Order No. 18, series of 2016.
With these approvals, more Filipino students will have opportunities to pursue medical education closer to home while contributing to the country’s future healthcare workforce.
More opportunities to study medicine. More future doctors for the Philippines.
