The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Tarlac Provincial Office, in partnership with the Alliance for Sustainable Education and Training Advancement, Inc. (ASET, Inc.), conducted the second part of the Katarungang Pambarangay Series of Training on September 29, 2026.
The training is part of the continuing efforts to enhance the knowledge and capacity of barangay officials and members of the Lupong Tagapamayapa in the effective implementation and administration of the Katarungang Pambarangay system.
DILG Tarlac LGOO VII Denis Daquiz, Cluster Team Leader, delivered the welcome message, while Mr. Jerome Kercy L. Galang, President of ASET, Inc., conveyed a message of support for the continuing capacity-building initiative followed by the Overview of the Activity by LGOO V Ladislao B. Puno, III, Monitoring and Evaluation Section (MES) Chief.
The activity featured a comprehensive discussion on โBarangay Amicable Settlement: Legal Requirements, Effects, and Remedies,โ which was facilitated by Atty. Imelda C. Manipon-Gabriel, PAO Lawyer. The session provided participants with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the legal requirements governing amicable settlements, their effects, and the available remedies under the Katarungang Pambarangay system.
The program also included an overview of the activity, an open forum facilitated by the Public Attorneyโs Office (PAO) and DILG, and closing messages from LGOO VII Renalyn D. Iglesias, Cluster Team Leader.
Through this training, DILG Tarlac and its partner organizations reaffirm their commitment to strengthening barangay justice administration and promoting accessible, effective, and orderly mechanisms for the amicable settlement of disputes at the community level.
The activity forms part of the continuing partnership between DILG Tarlac and ASET, Inc. in advancing the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of local governance stakeholders in the Province of Tarlac.
