Sumablay ka na ba?
This is your not-so-typical success story. This is a story worth featuring - to inspire those who struggle, that with the guidance of the Lord, everything is possible.
“6 years and a month in-the-making full of hope, wonders, expectations, tears, disappointments, excitements and failures too YET ending it with fullness of joy and victory!!!
The road was narrow, bumby and yes it was crazyyyyyyyy longgggg! From taking the route as a BS Math student and eventually failed to shift to my dream course but noting can stop God from fulfilling His purpose in my life and made a miraculous way for me to enter the Engineering field.
THIS story started when MATH17 happened to cross paths with me and this was where HIS story began and OUR melodramatic story unfolded. Was once lost but has been found.. fast forward.. got lost along the way again and in fact, many times — got lost where His presence is nothing near but afar from me — got blinded and was kept in the dark alone when season is almost coming to its end. From hoping to sablay in 2017 to hoping again at least for sablay 2018 without Him in the equation, to only found myself yet again, disheartened and disapointed.
And there HE was, when all pride, selfishness, and in denial has been crushed in this hardened heart, waited for me and embraced me despite breaking His genuine heart a thousand times more for a long time. And there He was again, the first one who confirmed and congratulated me with sparkling ascending drops of fading water above my head first thing in the morning. It was so magical I thought I was hallucinating. I knew then, from that moment, it was His form of telling me, “my child, today, it is finished.” JESUS, thank you for everything. I lay down my last subject and this thesis to you!!!
Nothing but overwhelmingly grateful and underserving of His overflowing love and grace,
LORIE MAE FABIA BAUTISTA

We hope that Lorie’s story will inspire more Graceans to always focus at the light at the end of the tunnel, even if the road is at its darkest. Like the Phoenix gloriously rising from her own ashes, Graceans will always strive for excellence regardless of circumstances.
Lorie Mae graduated Class Salutatorian, DGMHS Batch 2012.
We are very proud of you, Engr. Lorie! Congratulations!
