Sto.

PNP BUSTS ILLEGAL LPG REFILLING IN BULACAN; 3 ARRESTED, PHP 1.36M EQUIPMENT SEIZED

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., successfully dismantled an illegal liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refilling operation in Marilao, Bulacan on May 21, 2026, resulting in the arrest of three individuals and the confiscation of equipment used in unauthorized LPG activities.

Acting on a search warrant for violation of Republic Act No. 11592 or the LPG Industry Regulation Act, operatives conducted the operation at a warehouse located in Loma de Gato, Marilao, Bulacan. During the search, law enforcement personnel caught three employees of the establishment actively engaged in unauthorized refilling of an LPG cylinders without clearance or authority from legitimate brand owners.

Seized from the site were nine refilling heads, LPG hoses, refilling hoses, a weighing scale, a motor compressor, and a branded LPG cylinder tank used as a container for the refilling activity, with an estimated total value of PHP 1,360,000.00. These items were being utilized in the unauthorized handling and refilling of LPG products inside the warehouse.

Republic Act No. 11592 prohibits the refilling of LPG cylinders without the authority of the registered brand owners, reinforcing strict safeguards to ensure public safety, product integrity, and lawful distribution of LPG products.

The operation underscores the continuing enforcement efforts of the PNP against illegal commercial activities that pose risks to public welfare, aligned with its Focused Agenda, particularly on integrity monitoring and enhanced management of police operations.

“Ang mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng batas kaugnay ng produktong petrolyo ay mahalaga upang mapanatili ang kaligtasan ng publiko at maiwasan ang anumang kapahamakan,” said PGen Nartatez.

The arrested individuals are now under the custody of CIDG for appropriate documentation and filing of charges.

As the PNP intensifies its campaign against illegal and unsafe commercial practices under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it continues to assure the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”

276 CASES, 32 ARRESTS LOGGED IN NATIONWIDE PNP DRIVE VS ONLINE LIBEL

The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) has intensified its nationwide operations against online libel, referring a total of 276 cases for prosecution and arresting 32 individuals from January 1 to May 15, 2026.

The operations, carried out by different Special Operating Units and regional, provincial, city, and district cyber response teams of the PNP ACG, covered coordinated enforcement actions across the country. These efforts are part of the continuing campaign against violations of Section 4(c)(4) of Republic Act No. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

The arrested individuals are facing charges for online libel, which under existing law refers to the public and malicious imputation of a crime, vice, defect, or any act or circumstance that may cause dishonor or discredit when committed through information and communication technology. Such acts are penalized under the Cybercrime Prevention Act with a penalty one degree higher than traditional libel under the Revised Penal Code.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., reminded the public of the importance of responsible digital behavior, stressing that law enforcement will continue to act decisively against violations while upholding rights and due process.

“Ang social media ay isang makapangyarihang instrumento ng komunikasyon, ngunit kaakibat nito ang pananagutan. The PNP will remain firm in enforcing the law habang tinitiyak natin na ang karapatan ng bawat isa ay nirerespeto,” he said.

The sustained nationwide operations support the PNP Focused Agenda through Enhanced Managing Police Operations and are aligned with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen law enforcement efforts against cyber-enabled crimes and other illegal online activities.

The PNP ACG assured that similar operations will continue nationwide as part of its commitment to safer online communities, in line with Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
