Sto. Niño MYDC Moves to Strengthen Council Operations and Youth Representation

The Municipality of Sto. Niño successfully conducted the Municipal Youth Development Council (MYDC) First Quarter Meeting, marking another important step in strengthening youth participation, coordination, and leadership in the municipality.

One of the key agenda items of the meeting was the formulation of the Internal Rules and Procedure, which aims to establish clear guidelines and orderly processes for the council’s operations, decision-making, and implementation of youth-related initiatives. The discussion underscored the importance of a structured internal framework in ensuring effective and efficient council functions.

Another major highlight of the meeting was the election of chairpersons for the Centers of Youth Participation, which will play a vital role in advancing sectoral youth concerns and promoting greater involvement of youth organizations in community development. The election results are as follows:

Active Citizenship – PYAP Sto. Niño
Economic Empowerment – RBA College Inc.
Education – SNNHS School Publication
Environment – Municipal Federation of YES-O
Global Mobility – Guinsang-an NHS SSLG
Social Inclusion and Equity – SNNHS Catholic Youth Ministry
Agriculture – Sto. Niño National School of Arts and Trade
Health – Sto. Niño KUMUNIRUN
Governance – Sto. Niño NHS SSLG
Peace-building and Security – Municipal Federation of BKD

The meeting served as an avenue for MYDC members to discuss relevant youth concerns, align priorities, and reinforce their shared commitment to meaningful youth participation in local governance. Through the formulation of the Internal Rules and Procedure and the selection of sectoral chairpersons, the council continues to build a stronger foundation for a more responsive and organized youth development framework in Sto. Niño.

The successful conduct of the MYDC First Quarter Meeting reflects the local government’s continuing commitment to empowering the youth and ensuring that they remain active partners in community-building and local development.
