We express our deepest gratitude to our very supportive and active Punong Barangay, Hon. Edmond C. Clapis, as well as our Barangay Kagawads, SK Chairwoman and our Barangay Secretary.
The appointment of a new Barangay Kagawad is legally grounded in the Local Government Code of 1991 (Republic Act No. 7160). When a vacancy occurs in the Sangguniang Barangay (Barangay Council), the Punong Barangay (Barangay Captain) has the authority to recommend someone for appointment. Upon the Captain’s recommendation, the Municipal Mayor typically fills the vacancy, ensuring that the appointee meets the qualifications prescribed by law.
This process ensures that the Sangguniang Barangay continues to function smoothly, maintaining good governance in our community.
