Cebu City, Philippines – February 21, 2025 — The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the ruling political party of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., has officially endorsed 𝗬𝗼𝗴𝗶 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝗶𝘇 for Cebu City Mayor, marking a significant moment in the political landscape of the city.
The endorsement was announced during the “𝗕𝗔𝗚-𝗢 𝗡𝗔 𝗣𝗨𝗗! 𝗔 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝗳𝗼𝗿-𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁” event along N. Bacalso Street, drawing thousands of Cebuanos eager for new leadership.
𝗣𝗙𝗣 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗼 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘆𝗼 𝗝𝗿. led the endorsement, citing Ruiz’s proven leadership, discipline, and dedication to public service as key reasons for the party’s support.
“Cebu City deserves a leader who does not just promise change but delivers real results. 𝗬𝗼𝗴𝗶 𝗥𝘂𝗶𝘇 has the experience, the vision, and the integrity to lead the city towards a brighter future,” Tamayo said to an electrified crowd.
Ruiz, who is running under , has gained strong grassroots support, particularly from sectors that have long been underserved, including vendors, students, workers, seniors, and women.
His candidacy represents 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 and a commitment to a governance model centered on accountability, inclusivity, and sustainable progress.
In his speech, Ruiz expressed gratitude for the PFP’s endorsement, vowing to bring meaningful reforms to Cebu City.
“This endorsement is not just about me; it is about every Cebuano who believes that we deserve better. ‘Bag-o na pud!’ is more than a slogan—𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹, 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲,” he declared.
The event also saw the endorsement of Partido Cebuano’s councilor-aspirants, further solidifying the alignment between PFP and the local movement.

“Our support for Yogi Ruiz is a statement that Cebu City deserves leaders who work for the people, not just for themselves. We believe in his ability to bring real solutions to the city’s long-standing challenges,” he added.

As the endorsement event concluded, chants of “𝗕𝗮𝗴-𝗼 𝗻𝗮 𝗽𝘂𝗱!” reverberated throughout the gathering, symbolizing the growing demand for change in Cebu City.
