Today, we celebrated the International Coastal Clean-Up Day! 🌊🏝

The Local Youth Developement Council (LYDC) with the support of the Iloilo City Government headed by our City Mayor Jerry Treñas and in collaboration with the Proyekto Philippines, Rotary Club of Iloilo City, Rotaract Club of Iloilo City, and Sangguniang Kabataan Pederasyon Iloilo City conducted the at the coastline of Villa Beach, Arevalo.

This initiative was joined by different offices, clubs, organizations and resulted to a total of 8,215 kilos of trash collected. Photo Contest and EcoBrick Making Contest were also conducted.

With this, we urge every Ilonggo to do their part in practicing proper solid waste management and garbage disposal in order to ensure the protection of our natural resources.

This Linggo ng Kabataan, the Local Youth Development Council and the SK Federation Office in partnership with Uswag Ilonggo Partylist conducted the Operation Libre Tuli, Information Drive on Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, & Dengue Awareness and Free Haircut Services for the Ilonggos held last August 9-10, 2022. 🎉

A total of 143 beneficiaries were able to avail the libre tuli and almost 70 beneficiaries for the free haircut during the two-day event held at the Jaro Youth Center, Brgy. MH del Pilar, Iloilo City.

Opening Ceremony of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2022 starting with the Laro ng Lahi.

The SK Officials of Iloilo City competed for a series of well-known games such as the sack race, tiyakad, palo-sebo, pokpok palayok and more.

This is just part of our week-long celebration!

Thank you so much for the support of our beloved Mayor Hon. Jerry Treñas, our SK Federation President & LYDC Chairperson Hon. Leila Lintao, Executive Assistant for the Youth & LYDC Secretariat Ms. Jsrah Parcia. Aiming to educate the Ilonggo youth voters of the right to vote; empower the voters to freely and rationally discuss opinions on pressing issues; equip the voters with the tools and knowledge on fact-checking, election reporting and election monitoring to help safeguard our votes; and encourage voters to make informed choices on May 9, 2022.

IN PHOTOS | DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD PACKS TO TYPHOON ODETTE VICTIMS

Kabataan sa Kartilya ng Katipunan-the organization spearheading the committee on Environment under the Iloilo City Local Youth Development Council together with the Sangguniang Kabataan Pederasyon-Iloilo City Officials and Chairpersons distributed food packs to 120 families at Barangay Tiolas and Barangay Balabago in San Joaquin, Iloilo.

Last December 17, 2021, Typhoon Odette traversed Panay Island and ravaged numerous properties and livelihood of the Ilonggos. As much as we were affected in Iloilo City, we also have hardly hit communities in our neighboring municipalities.

The Local Youth Development Council of Iloilo City and the Sangguniang Kabataan Pederasyon Iloilo City conducted a Donation Drive and all gathered donations both in cash and in kind were given to the communities chosen by the Kabataan sa Kartilya ng Katipunan.

We are thankful to all who have donated and partnered with us for this activity. We Kabataang Ilonggos believe that despite of the challenges brought by disasters, Ilonggos will continue to rise as we move to help lift others.
