In line with this, we encourage everyone to practice precautionary measures to protect ourselves, our families, animals, and the environment from the effects of extreme heat.

โ˜€๏ธ Avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure, especially from 10:00 AM โ€“ 3:00 PM
๐Ÿ’ง Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated
๐Ÿ”ฅ Avoid burning garbage and throwing lit ci******es in dry areas

The Toledo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) successfully conducted a First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Training held at the 2nd Floor of Toledo City General Hospital.

The activity was attended by dedicated healthcare frontliners including TCGH nurses, nursing attendants, ambulance drivers, and orderlies, all committed to enhancing their knowledge and skills in emergency response and life-saving interventions.

The two-day training focused on equipping participants with essential competencies in proper first aid management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and basic life support techniques to ensure timely and effective response during medical emergencies.

Through continuous capacity-building initiatives like this, CDRRMO remains steadfast in strengthening the preparedness and responsiveness of our healthcare workforce, ensuring quality and lifesaving services for the people of Toledo City.

LOOK | CDRRMO Ensures Safety of Toledo City Athletes during CVIRAA 2026

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of Toledo City, under the leadership of Engr. Alexander Dennis M. Abella, and with the guidance of LDRRM Council Chairperson Hon. Marjorie P. Perales, successfully carried out its augmentation duties during the DepEd CVIRAA 2026 held at the City of Naga.

Throughout the duration of the event, the CDRRMO Rescue S.T.A.R.S. Team was deployed as standby medical responders to ensure the safety and well-being of the Toledo City athletes. The team strategically positioned personnel in high physical contact venues and competition areas where the risk of injuries was significantly higher, providing immediate medical assistance, first aid, and rapid response whenever necessary.

This proactive deployment highlights the officeโ€™s strong commitment to safeguarding not only the community but also the cityโ€™s young athletes as they compete and represent Toledo with pride. The presence of trained responders ensured that any medical concerns were promptly addressed, contributing to a safe, secure, and well-coordinated sporting environment.

As part of the City Governmentโ€™s continuing commitment to disaster preparedness, the City of Toledo joined the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2026, reinforcing the importance of readiness and proper response during earthquake emergencies. The activity was conducted under the leadership of City Mayor Marjorie P. Perales, Chairman, Local DRRM Council, through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office headed by Alexander Dennis M. Abella, City DRRM Officer.

The ceremonial drill for the first quarter was held at Jacinta Larosa Elementary School, with the official alarm sounded at 3:30 P.M. Various offices of the Local Government Unit, together with partner agencies such as the Department of Education (DepEd), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Maritime Police and SWAT-EOD took part in the activity in support of strengthening earthquake awareness and preparedness.

Participants practiced the proper earthquake safety procedure DROP, COVER, and HOLD ON, followed by an orderly evacuation and coordination of response teams, highlighting the value of preparedness in protecting lives.

Through sustained efforts and collective participation, the City of Toledo continues to build a disaster-resilient community.

LOOK | Barangay Tanod Skills Enhancement and Refresher Course Successfully Conducted

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of Toledo City, headed by Engr. Alexander Dennis M. Abella, successfully conducted the Barangay Tanod Skills Enhancement and Refresher Course in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) โ€“ Toledo City, headed by City Local Government Operations Officer Mr. Abraham Rey C. Donaldo.

The training, conducted in three batches at San Remigio Beach Resort Hotel, Brgy. Tambongon, San Remigio, Cebu, was facilitated through the CDRRMOโ€™s Capability Building and Training Unit and aimed to strengthen the capabilities of Barangay Tanods as community frontliners assisting as first responders during emergencies and disasters.

Participants underwent lectures and hands-on demonstrations on Basic First Aid, including bandaging, splinting, and patient carries. They were also trained in performing Adult CPR. Basic Rope Rescue and Water Rescue were likewise discussed and demonstrated to further enhance their readiness in responding to emergencies within their respective barangays.

This activity was conducted with the full support of the City Government of Toledo under the leadership of LDRRM Council Chairperson Hon. Marjorie P. Perales.
