Tolosa, Leyte - September 01, 2026 - Under the leadership of SFO3 Leizl S Ong, OIC–Municipal Fire Marshal, the Tolosa Fire Station successfully conducted a Firefighting Refresher Course on Firefighting Suppression as part of its weekly refresher training program.

Regular firefighting refresher training keeps firefighters’ skills, knowledge, and readiness sharp. It improves equipment handling, teamwork, safety, and quick decision-making during emergencies, helping protect both firefighters and the community.

Tolosa, Leyte - September 01, 2026 - Tolosa Fire Station duty personnel, under the leadership of SFO3 Leizl S Ong, OIC–Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted a discussion on the Basic Principles of Splinting as part of Emergency Medical Operations.

The activity provided the Criminology Interns of Burauen Community College with essential knowledge on the proper principles and techniques of splinting—an important skill in providing immediate and appropriate care to individuals who sustain fractures, sprains, or other musculoskeletal injuries during emergencies.

This learning activity is part of the Program of Instruction for Criminology Interns, designed to strengthen their practical knowledge, emergency preparedness, and confidence in responding to situations where basic first aid and emergency medical care may be needed.

Tolosa, Leyte – August 31, 2026 - Under the leadership of SFO3 Leizl S Ong, OIC–Municipal Fire Marshal, the personnel of Tolosa Fire Station conducted a Sectional Update Meeting to present accomplishments, share updates, and ensure alignment among the different sections of the station.

The Weekly Sectional Report provides BFP Tolosa personnel with a systematic record of their accomplishments, activities, and assigned responsibilities. It promotes accountability, proper documentation, and effective monitoring of ongoing and completed tasks within the section.

The report serves as a reliable reference for evaluating personnel performance, monitoring section activities, and identifying concerns that require appropriate action. It also supports informed decision-making, effective supervision, and proper planning to ensure that the station’s operations remain organized and aligned with the objectives of the BFP.

Tolosa, Leyte – August 16, 2026 - The day began with prayer as personnel of Tolosa Fire Station, under the leadership of SFO3 Leizl S Ong, OIC–Municipal Fire Marshal, participated in the morning Holy Mass through a Facebook livestream at the station.
Religious activities for firefighters are conducted to promote morale, unity, and emotional well-being among personnel. Firefighters often work in high-risk environments where they encounter stressful and life-threatening situations. Through prayers, reflections, or similar activities, they are given an opportunity to find encouragement, strengthen their values of courage, compassion, and service, and support one another as a team.
The purpose of these activities is to encourage a sense of responsibility, mutual respect, and commitment to serving the community. They provide time for personal reflection and gratitude while reinforcing teamwork and ethical conduct in the profession. At the same time, participation should respect the diverse beliefs and personal convictions of all firefighters.

Tolosa, Leyte - August 30, 2026 – Demonstrating its commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly working environment, personnel of Tolosa Fire Station, under the leadership of SFO3 Leizl S. Ong, Officer-in-Charge, Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted a general cleaning activity within the station premises.
An essential activity because it helps maintain a healthy, safe, and comfortable environment. It removes dust, dirt, and harmful germs that can cause illnesses, while also improving air quality by reducing allergens and mold. Keeping spaces clean prevents accidents by eliminating clutter and slippery surfaces, and it helps protect furniture, floors, and equipment from damage. In addition, a clean environment creates a positive impression, reduces stress, and improves focus and productivity, making it an important part of everyday life.

Tolosa, Leyte – August 28, 2026 - Tolosa Fire Station personnel, led by SFO3 Leizl S Ong, OIC–Municipal Fire Marshal, actively participated in the Seminar on Fire Code Fees Assessment and Collection conducted by the BFP 8 North Leyte Provincial Office

The seminar on Fire Code Fees Assessment and Collection was conducted to enhance the knowledge and competency of BFP personnel in the proper assessment, computation, and collection of fees in accordance with the provisions of the Fire Code of the Philippines and its implementing rules and regulations. It aimed to ensure uniformity, accuracy, transparency, and proper documentation in the performance of related duties.

Participation in the seminar is important in strengthening personnel’s understanding of established procedures and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations. It also promotes accountability and professionalism in the collection of Fire Code fees, contributing to efficient service delivery, proper revenue management, and improved public trust in the Bureau.
