To create a safer, more accountable, and more trusted digital environment for Filipinos, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, met with Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Rhoel R. Aguda to explore the use of the National ID Authentication Services (NIDAS) in age and identity checks for users of Roblox and Meta.
With over 96 million Filipinos registered, the National ID System will serve as the backbone of the country's digital identity ecosystem. The PSA assured that registered individuals can be verified through the National ID Registryβ€”no physical or digital card required. The pilot rollout is set to begin soon.
Key officials, including Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) Undersecretary Renato β€˜Aboy’ A. Paraiso; PSA Assistant Secretary Rosalinda P. Bautista, Deputy National Statistician of the PhilSys Registry Office; PSA Assistant National Statistician (ANS) Vazir Joshua Querol; and OIC-ANS Atty. Henedine P.
