The Provincial Government of Cavite, through the Office of the Provincial Cooperative Development Officer (OPCDO), successfully conducts the Capacity Building Seminar for Cooperatives with the theme:

📚 𝐒𝐓𝐚𝐑𝐂𝐃𝐂 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔–𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟖

The Provincial Government of Cavite Cooperative Development Office (OPCDO) through the Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Developmen`t Officer (OPCDO) actively participated in the 𝗢𝗻𝗲-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗧𝗮𝗥𝗖𝗗𝗖 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟴 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 on September 3, 2026 at Calamba, Laguna.

The activity provided an avenue for cooperative development stakeholders across the region to assess current directions, review the Philippine Cooperative Development Plan (PCDP) 2025–2028 and the STaRCDC Vision, Mission, and Goals, and collaboratively formulate strategic priorities for the coming years.

Through the SWOT Analysis and Strategic Plan Formulation Workshop, participants shared insights, identified key areas for improvement, and contributed to shaping programs and strategies that will further strengthen cooperative development in Southern Tagalog.

𝐎𝐏𝐂𝐃𝐎 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐓𝐈-𝐂𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝟐𝟎 𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐏 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐆𝐞𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬!

20 Cavite MSMEs officially graduated from the 2026 OTOP Next Gen Program on September 3, 2026, marking the completion of a five-month journey of learning, consultation, and enterprise development.

The program started with the Assessment, Consultation, and Triage (ACT) session on May 13 and continued with technical assistance and learning sessions on Intellectual Property, Costing and Pricing, Digital Sales and Marketing, Food Standardization, GMP, Food Safety, SSOP, and product and brand development.

Through the guidance of partner agencies and specialists—including FDA, DOST, IPOPHL, OPA, and OTOP Designer Mr. Ronald Rommel Viloria, the participating MSMEs worked on improvements suited to their respective businesses.

A key accomplishment of the program was the development of new product labels and packaging designs, which were awarded to the graduates during the culminating activity. The celebration also featured a Visual Merchandising session and the sharing of experiences and insights from the graduates.

Implemented by the Provincial Government of Cavite through the Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer (OPCDO) and Department of Trade and Industry-Cavite, the program provided MSMEs with knowledge, technical assistance, and opportunities to strengthen their enterprises.

The journey continues as the 20 graduates are set to launch and showcase their products at the OTOP Next Gen Trade Fair and Exhibit from September 30 to October 5, 2026, at SM City Molino, City of Bacoor, Cavite.

The Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer (OPCDO) strengthened its community outreach through its participation in two provincial caravans held in September 2026.

On September 1, OPCDO participated in the Cavite Service Caravan at the Naic Town Plaza and Covered Court, where the office featured its cooperative, livelihood, and entrepreneurship programs and assisted participants with their inquiries on available services and support. Cavite local products were also showcased to promote the creativity, quality, and potential of local enterprises.

On September 3, OPCDO participated in the Cavite Career Caravan at SM City Trece Martires, highlighting its cooperative and livelihood programs and connecting interested participants with relevant assistance.

Through these activities, OPCDO expanded its reach and promoted programs and opportunities that support cooperatives, livelihoods, and local enterprises across Cavite.

🌱 Marahan Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MFMPC)

Established in the latter part of 1990, the Marahan Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MFMPC) began as a foundational alliance of 35 local farmers. Their shared vision was to elevate agricultural production—specifically in coffee, banana, coconut, and vegetable farming—while establishing crucial linkages with government agricultural agencies for technical and technological support.

Through strategic growth and community collaboration, the cooperative achieved several organizational milestones:

🌾 June 24, 1991 – Officially registered with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) under Registration No. MLA-749, led by its inaugural Chairman, Mr. Marciano O. Vislenio, and Treasurer, Mrs. Susan Crizaldo. Operations commenced with the distribution of feeds and fertilizers.

🏢 August 14, 2002 – Entered into an MOA with Barangay Officials to rehabilitate a flood-damaged Health Center into a cooperative workplace, which later developed into a three-story building.

🛒 May 2003 – Launched the Consumer Store Division to provide members with access to daily essential commodities.

💰 2007 – Established the Credit Division, providing members with low-interest credit facilities proportional to their share capital.

🌽 2010 – Amplified the Agricultural Division by leasing land for crop cultivation (corn, peanuts, and cassava) and diversifying into livestock investments (cattle and swine).

📈 2009–2020 – Experienced significant organizational scaling, increasing active membership from 98 to 348 individuals.
Today, MFMPC remains fully operational and dedicated to rural development. The cooperative continues to welcome new members into its growing network offering the following services:

The OPCDO provided technical assistance in the formulation of plans and programs of the City of Imus Cooperative Development Council, supporting the development of responsive and sustainable cooperative initiatives for the community in line with the Philippine Cooperative Development Plan 2025-2028.

The OPCDO also participated in the League of Cooperative Development Officers of the Philippines (LCDOP) Cavite Chapter Monthly Meeting held in Bacoor City, Cavite, where cooperative development concerns, programs, and initiatives were discussed and shared among Cooperative Development Officers.

The Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer (OPCDO) participated in the Cavite Career Caravan held on August 26, 2026, at Mana Town Center, Kawit, Cavite.

Organized by the Provincial Government of Cavite through the Office of the Provincial Public Employment Service Manager (OPPESM), the activity provided a venue for jobseekers, employers, government agencies, and partner organizations to connect and access various employment, career, and government services.

During the activity, OPCDO provided participants with information on its programs and services in cooperative development and livelihood assistance. The office also offered guidance on available livelihood opportunities and support programs that may help individuals and groups enhance their economic activities and pursue sustainable sources of income.

Through its participation in the career caravan, the OPCDO strengthened its efforts to bring cooperative and livelihood programs closer to the community, providing Caviteños with greater awareness of government assistance and opportunities available to support their economic development.

The Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer (OPCDO) conducted a Basic Bookkeeping Training in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office IV-A – CALABARZON on August 24, 2026, at the Livelihood Office, Ciudad de STRIKE, Molino I, Bacoor City, Cavite. The activity was attended by 23 participants under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of DSWD.

The activity aimed to equip participants with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in bookkeeping and financial record-keeping, particularly in properly recording business transactions, monitoring income and expenses, and maintaining accurate, organized financial records. These skills are essential in helping livelihood beneficiaries effectively manage their finances and make informed decisions for the sustainability and growth of their livelihood activities.

The Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) is a capacity-building program of the DSWD for poor, vulnerable, and marginalized households and communities. It seeks to improve their socio-economic conditions by providing opportunities to access and acquire the necessary assets and skills to engage in and sustain viable livelihoods through microenterprise development and employment facilitation.

Through the training, OPCDO provided practical guidance that can help participants strengthen their financial management practices and improve the management of their livelihood ventures. The activity supports the shared efforts of government agencies to promote sustainable livelihoods, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and economic empowerment among beneficiaries and communities.
