ALTERNATIVE WORK ARRANGEMENTS FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICES, ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES FOR SCHOOLS ON AUGUST 19
Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 129, government offices are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on August 19, 2026:

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.
The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

As part of the OTOP Month Celebration, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cavite, led by Provincial Director Lilibeth R. Chavez, supported the OTOP Fiesta 2026 with the theme “Gawang Imuseño, Pinagmamalaki Ko!”, an initiative of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Imus.

Held on August 15–16, 2026 at Ayala Malls Vermosa, the event showcased the creativity, passion, and quality products of Imuseño MSMEs, providing them with an avenue to promote their products, reach new markets, and encourage consumers to support proudly local products.

𝐃𝐓𝐈 𝐂𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐁𝐍𝐈 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐔𝐩 – 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐤𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧, 𝐊𝐚𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧

August 14, 2026 | The Department of Trade and Industry Cavite participated in the Business Link Up - Koneksyon, Kaalaman, Kabuhayan (K*K) organized by BNI Winners, a local chapter of Business Network International (BNI), held at Volets Hotel, Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

The activity gathered MSMEs from across Cavite to learn more about government programs and services that can support them in sustaining and growing their businesses.

DTI Cavite Provincial Director Lilibeth R. Chavez led the discussion on the MSME Landscape, highlighting the vital role of MSMEs as the backbone of the Philippine economy. She shared key figures on the number of MSMEs in the country, their contribution to employment, and the significant presence of MSMEs in the CALABARZON region.

Meanwhile, Trade and Industry Development Specialist (TIDS) Mikaela Jane B. Juangco presented the programs and services of DTI Cavite’s Business Development Division and Consumer Protection Division. The presentation focused on how DTI assistance and services can help MSMEs develop and strengthen their businesses while promoting responsible business practices.

The discussion also emphasized the importance of consumer protection, encouraging MSMEs to uphold consumer rights while also understanding and exercising their own rights and responsibilities as business owners.

Also present during the activity was Negosyo Center – Trade and Industry Development Analyst (NC TIDA) Eliezer Ganados, who assisted at the DTI booth and provided participants with additional information on DTI programs and services available to MSMEs.

The Department of Trade and Industry-Cavite continues to champion consumer welfare and fair trade practices through the conduct of Bagwis Seal of Excellence assessments in five (5) Handyman branches across the province on August 13-14, 2026.

Of the five branches assessed, four (4) underwent revalidation to ensure their continued compliance with the standards of the Bagwis Program, while one (1) branch was assessed as a first-time applicant seeking to join the roster of responsible business establishments recognized under the program.

The DTI Bagwis Program recognizes retail stores, supermarkets, hardware stores, and service shops that demonstrate compliance with fair trade laws, uphold consumer rights, maintain functional Consumer Welfare Desks (CWDs), and practice corporate social responsibility.

DTI Cavite commends establishments that go beyond basic compliance and remain committed to ensuring that consumers receive quality products, fair treatment, and the best value for their money.

𝐃𝐓𝐈 𝐂𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐌𝐏 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬

The 2026 OTOP (Cavite) Philippines successfully conducted a three-day seminar on Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) from August 11 to 13, 2026, in Trece Martires City, Cavite.

The training was facilitated by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cavite, in collaboration with the Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer, with Ms. Grechen B. Varias serving as the resource speaker. The seminar aimed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of Cavite OTOPreneurs in ensuring safe, quality, and compliant food production practices.

The discussion on Food Safety focused on the proper handling, preparation, storage, and processing of food products to prevent contamination and ensure consumer safety. Meanwhile, GMP emphasized the importance of maintaining proper workplace conditions, personal hygiene, equipment, facilities, and production procedures to consistently produce safe and quality products.

The seminar also highlighted SSOP, which covers established and documented sanitation practices, including the proper cleaning and disinfection of facilities, equipment, and work areas.

These practices also help prepare their businesses for potential Food and Drug Administration (FDA) registration in the future, supporting their readiness for business growth and wider market opportunities.

DTI Cavite attended the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Cavite 2nd Quarter General Membership Meeting held on August 13, 2026, at the Locator’s Hall, First Cavite Industrial Estate, Dasmariñas City.

DTI Cavite Provincial Director Lilibeth R. Chavez served as the Inspirational Message Speaker during the gathering. In her message, PD Chavez highlighted the vital role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in creating jobs, providing income, promoting innovation, and contributing to the growth of local economies.

Anchored on the theme “MSMEs Rising: Strengthening Today, Building Capability, Expanding Tomorrow,” PD Chavez emphasized the need for MSMEs to continuously build their capabilities, embrace digitalization and innovation, strengthen market access, and promote sustainability and resilience.

PD Chavez reaffirmed DTI Cavite’s commitment to working with PCCI and other stakeholders in fostering a business environment where MSMEs can grow, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗭𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗔𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗘

Pursuant to Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 5059-2026, declaring the Province of Cavite under a State of Calamity due to the widespread adverse effects of the Southwest Monsoon enhanced by Tropical Cyclones “Luis” and “Maymay”, effective 11 August 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry Cavite (DTI-Cavite) informs all consumers and retailers that based on Section 6 of RA 7581 or the Price Act, prices of basic necessities in an area declared under state of calamity shall automatically be frozen at their prevailing prices or placed under automatic price control. Section 6 also stipulates that unless sooner lifted by the president, automatic price control on basic necessities shall remain effective for the duration of the condition that brought it about, but not more than 60 days.

In this regard, please be guided accordingly of the updated prevailing prices in supermarkets and grocery stores in the province.
