As part of the continuing efforts to promote women's health and prevent cervical cancer, the Local Government Unit of Trento, through the Municipal Health Office (MHO), successfully conducted the Cervical Cancer Awareness and Screening Activity at the Barangay Pulanglupa Health Station on August 6.

The activity aimed to improve awareness and promote the early detection of cervical cancer among eligible women through health education and Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) screening. It also promoted cervical cancer prevention, emphasized the importance of early detection, facilitated the identification and referral of women with abnormal screening results for further evaluation and management, and encouraged regular participation in cervical cancer screening services. A total of 30 women aged 30 to 65 years participated in the activity.

The activity included health education for 30 women and Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) screening for 25 eligible participants, promoting awareness and the early detection of cervical cancer.

In our continuous commitment to empowering local communities through sustainable livelihood initiatives, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Trento, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), conducted the Pre-Procurement and Pre-Construction Conference for the Abante San Roque Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA) at the Covered Court, Barangay San Roque, on August 5.

Association members were oriented on community procurement procedures, procurement planning, documentation requirements, project implementation guidelines, technical specifications, construction compliance, and the roles and responsibilities of the association and partner stakeholders, equipping them with the knowledge and guidance necessary for the transparent and efficient implementation of the Chicken Egg Production Project under the Zero Hunger 2026 modality.

The Local Government Unit of Trento, through the Rural Health Unit (RHU), in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, successfully conducted a Bloodletting Activity at the Barangay Tudela Covered Court on August 4.

The activity aimed to collect safe and adequate blood from voluntary donors to help maintain a stable blood supply for local hospitals and support patients requiring blood transfusions. A total of 29 residents of Barangay Tudela successfully donated blood during the activity.

The municipality continues to strengthen its blood donation program through regular community bloodletting activities, ensuring a steady blood supply while encouraging more residents to become voluntary blood donors and help save lives.

As part of the continuing efforts to strengthen healthcare services, the Local Government Unit of Trento, through the Municipal Health Office, in collaboration with the Department of Healthโ€“Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Caraga and the Provincial Health Office, successfully conducted the Health System Resilience Project (HSRP) Site Validation Activities at the Trento Primary Care Facility on August 4.

The site validation activity aimed to review project requirements, verify submitted documents, and assess project readiness in preparation for the expansion and construction of the Trento Primary Care Facility. A total of 14 participants, composed of representatives from the Municipal Health Office, Department of Healthโ€“CHD Caraga, Provincial Health Office, Municipal Engineering Office, and Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), participated in the activity.

The validation served as a key step in ensuring that the proposed expansion and construction of the Trento Primary Care Facility complies with the necessary project requirements and is ready for implementation under the Health System Resilience Project (HSRP), supporting the municipality's commitment to providing accessible, resilient, and quality healthcare services for Trentohanons.

The Local Government Unit of Trento, through the Municipal Agriculture Office headed by Municipal Agriculturist Marlou B. Salinas, successfully conducted the Community-Based Approach for Sustainable Agriculture at the Barangay Manat Multipurpose Hall on August 4.

The activity brought together 50 participants, including members of the Barangay Council, farmer leaders, farmers, and fisherfolk, to identify the community's priority agricultural needs through a participatory consultation.

The initiative aims to promote sustainable agricultural development by strengthening community participation in planning and ensuring that government programs and interventions are aligned with local needs. It also prioritizes projects that help reduce poverty and improve the livelihoods of farmers and fisherfolk.

During the consultation, Barangay Manat identified vegetable seedlings, fruit trees, and oil palm as its priority crop commodities; native chicken, goat, swine, and carabao as its priority livestock commodities; and a solar dryer as its priority farm machinery. These priorities will guide the implementation of future agricultural programs and interventions in the barangay.

As part of the continuing efforts to promote digital empowerment and expand opportunities in the digital economy, the Local Government Unit of Trento, in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), successfully conducted the SPARK Graduation Ceremony: Social Media Marketing 2.0: A Paradigm Shift in AI-Powered Interaction at the Mayor's Conference Hall on August 4.

The graduation ceremony aimed to formally recognize and celebrate the successful completion of the SPARK Technical Training: Social Media Marketing 2.0 by the SPARK scholars in Trento. It also provided an opportunity to award certificates to the graduates, recognize their learning achievements, showcase their acquired digital and freelancing competencies, strengthen collaboration among DICT, LGU Trento, and local freelancing communities, and encourage graduates to pursue opportunities in freelancing, remote work, and digital entrepreneurship. The activity gathered 25 SPARK Scholars, together with DICT Caraga regional and provincial officials, trainers, and facilitators.

The SPARK Graduation Ceremony marked the culmination of the training program, which equipped participants with essential competencies in virtual assistance, communication, productivity tools, social media management, AI-powered applications, and client engagement strategies through hands-on activities and practical learning experiences.

The Local Government Unit of Trento, through the Rural Health Unit (RHU), in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, successfully conducted a Bloodletting Activity at the Barangay Salvacion Hall on August 3.

The activity aimed to collect safe and adequate blood from qualified voluntary donors to help save lives and ensure a sufficient blood supply for patients in need. A total of 45 individuals underwent screening and consultation, with 35 qualified donors successfully donating blood.

Participants generously donated blood in support of the municipality's efforts to strengthen its blood supply and respond to the needs of patients requiring blood transfusions. The activity highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives and fostering community solidarity.

Following the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided financial assistance under the Unconditional Assistance for Poor and Low-Income Households (UPLIFT) Program to eligible beneficiaries in Trento during the payout held at the Municipal Gymnasium on July 31.

A total of 2,274 Group 2 beneficiaries each received Php 2,000 under the program. Recipients included poor households not enrolled in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and near-poor households identified through the 2024 CBMS.

The UPLIFT Program is a national government initiative that aims to help vulnerable Filipino families cope with rising prices and other economic challenges. Qualified beneficiaries are expected to receive monthly assistance from July to December 2026, subject to program guidelines and eligibility validation.

The payout was successfully conducted through the coordinated efforts of the DSWD and the Local Government Unit of Trento, ensuring the orderly and timely distribution of assistance to qualified households.
