The NIA Chico River Pump Irrigation Project joins the NIA Region 02 delegates headed by Engr. Reymundo B. Apil, Regional Manager, in the parade of colors and muses in the week-long NIA 60th anniversary celebration with the theme "NIA para sa Progresibong Pilipinas" at NIA Central Office Quadrangle.

The celebration started with the preliminaries which include, opening prayer, singing of the Philippine national anthem, Recitation of the Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas, and singing of Ako ay Pilipino. Followed by the Oath of Sportmanship where participating players pledge to play fairly and obey the rules of each game while enjoying the event.

After which, The Torch Lighting relay was conducted, starting from sir Ed G. Yu, NIAEASP President to sir Ralph Lauren A. Du, Deputy Administrator for Admin and Finance Sector to Engr. Robert C. Suguitan, Senior Deputy Administrator who gets to light the cauldron.

Sir Du formally opened the program and welcomed everyone. He further extended gratitude to those who enthusiastically participated in the said event. He wrapped up his speech by acknowledging the efforts and hardwork of the Administrator saying, "para sa ating ahensya, ito'y hindi masasakatuparan kung wala ang suporta at guidance ng ating administrator Eddie G. Guillen"

The highlights of the celebration are the NIA milestone exhibit, singing idol competition, search for miss encantania 2023, cultural dance contest, culminating and awarding ceremony, anniversary ball, and first ever employees night and concert with invited guests.

This is another milestone to remember for all the employees of NIA. Indeed, a happy anniversary to the leading agency for the irrigation system of the Philippines, the National Irrigation Administration.

Sa kanyang talumpati sa pagdiriwang ng Ika-60 na Taong Pagkakatatag ng National Irrigation Administration (NIA) sa Open Grounds ng NIA Central Office, hinikayat ni NIA Acting Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen ang bawat kawani ng Ahensiya na patuloy na maglingkod nang buong puso at katapatan sa ating inang-bayan.

Aniya, ang pagdiriwang po na ito ay isang tanda ng walang humpay na pagseserbisyo ng ating Ahensiya para sa ating mga bayaning magsasaka at sa bawat mamamayang Pilipino.

NIA commemorates Philippine Independence Day

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA), headed by Acting Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen, joins the nation in commemorating the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Independence Day on June 12, 2023.

Independence Day is a national holiday in the Philippines observed every 12th day of June, observing the Philippine Declaration of Independence from the Spanish Government on June 12, 1898. The event is commemorated annually by the virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 28, issued by then-president Diosdado Macapagal on May 12, 1962.

Administrator Guillen sees the event as a reminder for all Filipinos to treasure our history and democracy. It is an inspiration for every NIA employee to contribute in nation-building, especially in the development of the country’s irrigation sector.
